SOURCE: Automatic Eletric Ignition stopped working
It's is normal for the ignitors not to work when wet, once they dry they should work. The best thing is to check the electric sending unit, they are a small white kind of square that goes on the switch, just lift the knobs and take the cover of the switches and you should see the sending units righ on the rod that hold the knobs, they have to small wires attached to them, It seems to me that thats were your problem is.
Do you hear the click clik when you put the knob on LITE??

you have moisture buildup in the switch,
you can blow dry it to dry it out.
or the contacts in the switch or switches are connected together.
or grease build up.
you have to open , take apart the cooktop to test to figure out which switches are bad., you can do this by unplugging each switch and testing it.
be causes.
once you figure out the bad switch or switches, you can order new parts, or drill open old switch to clean out and fix the switch for re use.
basically,
1, clean mositure
2. clean contact points
3. test to see if the switch works, by turning the wheel and check contact points.
4. crazy glue back.
5. put back and use.
