SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-37P50E connected to computer with HDMI cable

Hi,

I got the chat , but some how it got disconnected.
But i would like to help you in this aspect.
HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface, and supports transmission of both audio and video in high fidelity.

First make sure these things,

Both your computer and your TV will need to support HDMI interface.
It's quite a recent thing in PC graphics cards, so you may have to resort to S-Video, DVI or VGA for the video, plus a 3.5mm stereo cable (or the optical TOSLINK equivalent) for the sound.

Let know your comments and i will follow up with the suggestions.
Thanx for using fixya,
Good luck.

SOURCE: Close captioning on HDMI

The TV will not display closed caption with HDMI input. It must either over-the-air (antenna) or composite input for the TV to manage CC.

To get CC with HDMI from your Comcast DVR, you need to configure the cable box. Instructions can be found here:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR/Setup

If you want CC all of the time, this works well. But since you must power-off the cable box to change the setting, switching CC on and off is a real pain.

Your set-up is similar to mine (Sharp Aquos 46" and Comcast DVR). I have the composite output from the cable box going to a DVD-recorder and on to the TV. Whenever I need CC (usually to catch some mumbled dialog), I just rewind the DVR, and switch the TV input to the composite input. Then I switch back to HDMI to continue watching in HD.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-46d65U HDMI connect

First off a little tip that manufacturers don't tell you is that you HAVE to TURN OFF the POWER to ANY UNITS that you are Connecting to via HDMI!!!!!!! If not you can short out the Inputs!!!!!!!! HDMI is usually Automatic, But sometimes you need to go into the Menus on all Devices to the HDMI section and write down their settings and compare them. Any definition that you are not sure of check the Manual or Google it! Match all the Settings (there won't be Much!) Hopefully the Inputs were not Damaged it only takes one time to short it out and then the Repairman makes a few bucks! Good Luck!

SOURCE: Television is not recognizing HDMI inputs

there is a possibility that there might have been a power surge sent over hdmi into the hdmi board on the tv. if on your model the hdmi board is seperate from the sine board then youll have a cheap replacement if not its gonna cost you roughly 300-400 is my guess.

call your repair guy

Ok I’m trying to plug my ps4 into my dell monitor but it keeps saying Cannot use video (That’s paraphrased) and stuff like Optimal Resolution is 1680 x 1058 60hz

no monitor stated,
sony play station 4 sure.
but what cable are you using.? (video) HDMI, , and does this cable work from TV hdmi to PS4, showing SOny is ok.
can i presume the monitor has HDMI and you are not using a
funky, hDMI to VGA or DVI adaptor????
also DRM can get in the way here.
or very old monitors HDMI not up to work with Sony.
PS4 web site lists monitors that work. if you want to read that.
but if you read your SONY manual and see what the default resolution is, then go to the monitor push menu and change it.
quote sony
but it should be HDMI automatic and if is the sound can see be dead if the monitor has no speakers, but there are ways to cure that.

"When you set up your PS4â„¢ system, you might need to configure the output for the HDMI OUT port. By default, this is set to automatically match the TV you connect. To configure settings yourself, select (Settings) > [Sound and Screen] > [Video Output Settings]."

Having a few issues with my new 55' Samsung qled series 7 tv. I bought it to play games but I get blackouts every 10min playing my PS4. Doesn't do it with regular tv just PS4 pro. Really frustrating

Hello!
Sounds like an issue with your display connection. Make sure the HDMI cable you are using is in perfect working condition and that both ends are firmly connected to television/console.
Hope it helped!

Trying to hook up a PS4 2A Oli flat screen TV help please

its a ps4 so it comes with a hdmi cable. Place the hdmi cable into the back of the ps4 and put the other end into a hdmi input
on the TV . Don't know the TV but usually there are a number of HDMI input ports on most modern tv's.
Then switch tv source to HDMI .

Happy gaming Phillip

you will have to plug the usb cable into the controller and into the front of the PS4 and then charge the controller by pressing the power button on ps4. The controller has to be paired to the ps4. The manual that came with the ps4 should go into it in more detail.
