In general, you have to order recovery disks from the manufacturer of the machine.
In your case eMachines Store eRecovery is where you can order it, or you can initiate a discussion with tech support.
Also, many machines give you the option to burn your own recovery media when you first set it up. Most people skip this step. You should do this before you have problems. Search your machine for the word Recovery and see if you have an installer routine there.

SOURCE: Emachine w3650 recovery disks....

One option is to run virus removal software in windows safe mode which is started by pressing the F8 key when starting up the computer. I suggest running an online scan such as trend micro housecall at housecall.trendmicro.com/ . This will probably remove the virus. Also, is there important data on the hard drive that she will need? If that is the issue, there are other ways to copy files from the hard drive without actually copying the virus. Let me know exactly what you want to do? If you just want to run the recovery, but lose everything that was on the hard drive, use the F11 and it will completely refresh your computer to how it was when you got it. The discs aren't necessary as the recovery section is on the Hard Drive.

I'm trying to download E728 recovery disk but my serial/SNID no isn't recognised

If you have done a Factory Recovery, all your date is gone. You have formatted the HDD. You must start from the beginning, do all your Windows and eMachine updates. In Windows 7 you will find a folder, "Windows.old", after you have finished ALL the updates, do a Search for Windows.old, you will find SOME of your old data. If the Laptop didn't complete the Recovery process, try again. Where did you download the e728 Recovery disk from? Is it a boot disk? A ISO disk? You may have to contact eMachine support, using your Serial Number, order a Factory DVD to return the Laptop to Factory Settings.

How do i make my computer just like it came out of the factory?

1. Recovery Disk - usually bundled CD with a new laptop or deskop PC 2. If the disk is not available, try checking on the manufacturers site if the recovery disk is available for download ( EMachine Homepage) 3. Some Desktop already have the recovery data saved on a slave drive. Try to verify the model of your Desktop and search it on their homepage
note: disk recovery will delete files, so be sure to backup important data before performing a recovery

How do I create a factory default recovery disc where do I find the area at

Hello,

Not knowing the age and model of your emachine I will give you a few choices.

If it's an older series like the picture above you should be able to go into the start menu, all programs and then either PC Help and Tools or Emachine-Recovery manager. Then select Recovery Disk Creator.

If it's a newer model, Emachines and Gateway were bought out by Acer over a year ago and now use the Acer style recovery. Select Star, All Programs, then Emachine Recovery Manager. Load the Disk Creator selecting Factory Default disks first then selecting Application and Driver Disk.

One note, if it's an older model you will only be able to create the application and driver disk. It would have came factory with a base windows install disk. If you have lost this disk, you can reinstall using any standard OEM disk for the correct version of windows and using the windows license attached to the computer, but you will need the application and drivers disk to install your devices and programs.

If it's and older model and you can't find the disk, you can order a replacement set by contacting Emachines support, but there will be a cost invloved.

Restore emachine

Your machine has two ways of repair: SYSTEM RESTORE and SYSTEM RECOVERY. System restore is a Windows utility that rolls the machine back to a point where the machine worked before the problem. System recovery is an eMachines tool that puts the machine back the way it was when you first got it. Restore wont delete your data, recovery will and can. If the problem is catastrophic, and youve backed up your data off of the machine, use the recovery option. Your recovery partition (or a recovery disk) is needed to do this, and it involves pressing a key while the computer boots up. Check your documentation for your model of machine.
