Question about Thomson Lands Phones

Open Question

The phone makes no sound and doesn't get any calls when people call but the volume is all the way up. The whole phone system works but that issue. It is a model 28821FE2-A. What do I do?

It is a DECT 6.0 based phone. I can't hear anything even when the volume is all the way up and it is not on mute. When people call it goes straight to "The person you have dialed is not answering. Please leave a message after the tone." Even when someone leaves a message it won't come through. The "do not disturb" is not on.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic KX-TGA652 dual handset no

Id try the following in this order:

  1. Try swapping batteries with another set and see if the problem follows the battery
  2. Try re-registering the handset, they could of missed one at the factory. that is done by selecting menu->initial settings->register handset
If this doesn't work, then return for warranty/exchange. Mine seem to work great right out of the box.

I not have manual for Uniden dect 6 cordless phone on my phone I can't get any dial tone,I think I pressed a button on the phone either mute, intercom or redial, how to reset phone

If you have no dial tone the problem is most likely the base station has failed, nothing you can do will kill the dial tone (no button you pushed etc.) except a failed base station.

How do i unmute the ringer on my vtech dect 6.0 phone

Hi Angie.

The manual for this phone can be viewed here:
http://cdn-media.vtechphones.com/ecp/documents/product_Product/1681/UserManual/6351/ls6425-3_manual_i3.pdf
On Manual Page 20 / pdf page 23, it says that if the ringer is muted for a single call, that it should work again the next time someone calls.

However. page 57 notes that the base ringer volume can be set between 0 and 6, so it's possible your ringer volume is not technically muted, but just turned all the way down.

Manual page 62/pdf 67 has a half-page list of other reasons that the ringer might not ring. (It can also be turned off, and there are different adjustments for both the phone and the base unit.

Hoing this lets you figure it out!

How do i turn off the silent mode which will not let me hear the phone ring

I have a Panasonic DECT 6.0 which is probably similar. Try the menu that sets the landline ringer volume. On mine, this is MENU #160, then use the up/down keys to set the volume. There may be a MUTE option somewhere there.

With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level.

Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.

The handset or base will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.

Vtech cordless phone appears to be mute

Try the "hard reboot". /1/ Unplug power from base station. /2/ Disconnect battery in each handset. /3/ Wait a few minutes. /4/ Reconnect battery. /5/ Re-plug-in power to base station. /6/ Place handset in base station, and wait a few minutes for it to recover.
You may have to reset time/date and/or the handset ##.
