Why does the fan not run on my lad504tdl dehumidifier?

They don't have a way to run just the fan. Dehumidifiers don't normally have a fan only option. That would be kind of like having a DVD player not hooked up to a TV, you put a disk in and it might start-up (spinning) in autoplay mode put you can't see it so there is no benefit. If you are just trying to circulate the air in the room a small fan would work much better.

I see that your Frigidaire dehumidifier is displaying an error code of "ES" and you would like to the meaning of that error code. The "ES" error code stands for evaporator thermistor error. This could be a possible problem with your control panel, thermistor, or a wiring harness. I would recommend contacting your manufacturer for further assistance with your dehumidifier. Dehumidifiers are built that way. They keep moving air so it is able to keep any change of conditions moving around the room. On a dehumidifier, it the fan stops, your unit will short cycle becasue water will naturally evaporate from the water tank and it would turn on, then off, then on then off. The way it runs now is fine. Running the fan 24 hours on your dehumidifier cost nickels a day. Just let run.

With the unit unplugged, open the cover and check the alignment of the fan. If the fan is stuck or rubbing against the fan cowling, adjust the fan motor's mounting hardware so that the fan turns freely.

Your dehumidifier has a circulating fan that draws the room air over the coils. If there's no air movement out the front or back of the unit, the fan motor may be burned out or stuck, or the fan blade may be broken. If so, you need to replace the fan motor or the fan blade.

it should shut off when the compressor is not running. only portable a/c can have fan running constantly

If you have the fan icon selected, it is supposed to run continuously. If you use the mode button (not the fan button) to change to relative humidity (the water drop icon), the fan should only run with the dehumidifier.
