SOURCE: Freezer model EV171NYMS04 we have ice build up on

There is a drain the back of the freezer that is frozen. Your trickle of water comes from the ice that melts off of the refrigeration coils during the defrost cycle. You need to turn off the freezer, then remove the rear cover from the back wall to expose the coils. With a hair dryer, melt all of the ice. You will find a drain under the coils. Melts all of the ice in this drain so water can get out of the freezer. When this drain is clear, you can put everything back together, and your freezer should work normally.

We have a Crosley WCF20/F upright frost free freezer. We get ice buildup on the bottom Shelf and can't pull the basket out. Is there a drain plug or something else? The freezer freezes all food

A frost free fridge or freezer has a heating panel that is switched on for a short time at the end of each cooling cycle to melt any frost that has formed over the evaporator.
The resulting water droplets are channeled through a drain to be collected in a tray mounted on the motor where the heat from the motor will evaporate it.

The drain of your freezer is probably blocked and has caused an ice build up. You will probably have to at least partially thaw and de-ice in order to find the drain and clear it. This is especially difficult as cold plastic is very brittle and easily broken. Great care is needed when clearing the drain as it is possible to dislodge the drain tube and if unnoticed it will saturate the insulation and render the freezer inefficient at best...

Model EVL201NXRQ05 serial eww4020663 WHIRLPOOL UPRIGHT FREEZER - Freezer which is having ice freeze on the bottom of the freezer. What can I do?

The defrost water from the melted frost (ice) collects in the bottom of the freezer. If there is no plugged up drain, then you must remove the water manually with a sponge and bucket after a defrost cycle.

Ice in the bottom of freezer

Greetings,
the drain is clogged most likely...remove lower shelves, baskets, remove rear panel if self defrosting.. find the drain hole and use a hair dryer or hot water to defrost ice..once the surface ice is off...you will need to make sure there is no ice in drain tube going down under freezer. use a squeeze bottle with hot water and force it into drain. do this repeatly until water runs free down drain....Bruce Denton

Water freezing in bottom of freezer. freezer is 10 years old.

The defrost drain outlet is stopped up and freezing over.
Remove the bottom basket.
Turn the freezer off.
Look in the center of the freezer just below the cooling coils in the bottom of the freezer.
You will see a water drain trough.
It will be full of ice.
Use a hair dryer to thaw the ice and remove it.
The drain will become exposed.
It must be thawed also,so that you can pour water through it and the water goes all the way to the drain pan underneath.

Ice build up in the bottom of my upright freezer

If it's a frost free model, it could be caused by a plugged defrost drain. Every time it goes through a defrost cycle the water is supposed to drain into the compressor compartment. You can defrost it by unplugging it for a day or two and then remove the panel covering the evaporator coil. You should be able to see the drain tray under the coil and find out whats blocking it.
