LCD tv screen black with ones no pic has sound

Change your video source - input. If you don't see anything, there maybe a problem with TV. You can do a hard reset by unplugging TV from outlet for 15 minutes. If you are still unable to view anything, like video input message from TV, you have a more serious problem. Is your TV a CRT or LED/LCD? If your emmerson is a CRT, it's most likely the TV lamp. You can look on Amazon or ebay and pic one up for under $100. If it's a LED or LCD, it can be the motherboard. Which you can also find for under $100.

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... I was watching TV yesterday and all of a sudden the picture went all. ... started makinga very high pitched buzzing sound with no picuture coming on. It sounds like you cracked the screen. If it is cracked, you cannot fix it. Your only options are to replace the screen (BIG $$$) or buy a new set. If you can email me a pic of the TV I can tell you for sure if the screen is cracked. LCD screen are very thin, about as thick as a dime and it doesn't take much to crack them.

LCD it is likely an inverter board--one drives left and one drives right side of screen--a few combine both into a single board.

Your LCD backlighting system is not functioning.Your LCD main board should detect the problem and would give you and error code.This needs an immediate service.See if the Tv is under warranty then you can return it an get a replacement.It usually the inverter that has the problem but also either one(even just one)baclighting bulb goes off it will shut off all the backlighting bulbs,thus a sound with no picture as a result.

cheaper to just buy a new tv mate,sounds like the pixels for that half of the screen are gone.

if u have sound, hold a flashlight to the screen and look for a picture. if u see a pic, the backlight/inverter has failed.

if its an LCD check by holding a flashlight to the screen looking for the pic. if u see the pic the backlight/inverter has failed.
