You need to replace the defrost heater. This is easy to do and failry inexpensive. Here is a couple links that should help

thats nothing to worry about,its just the defrost cycle and its drippingwater on the defrost heater and sizzling as it evaporates,this sound is normal

I want you to look into the back of the freezer and see if you notice ice beginning to stick to the metal panel that has the evaporator fan behind it. Let me know because this is usually the first sign the defrost timer or defrost element and defrost thermostat are not working properly. Sea Breeze

your not going through defrost cycle. remove rear panel in freezer and defrost ice. need to verify defrost timer, defrost heater and defrost thermostat. these are the only parts that deal with defrost cycle.
