I have a2002 evenrude 50 horse out board went out on Father's Day started fine ran a littte while quit started back up chugging died wouldn't start back up took it to my friends boat mech he put a new idle control mod on it and still won't run he says he dont no what's wrong with it I asked if I should take it to another mech he says he the best and no one nos what he knows any ideas

They are two most common problems with this vehicle that will cause it to do this 1 bad distributor and the other bad MAIN relay. If you have spark, try changing the fuel filter. If you don't have spark, get back to me.

I firstly would check relay. You can use an ohmmeter to check the resistance of the relay. If you get a reading, it is good, If not it is bad. Than disconnect fuel pump wire harness and do the same.

SOURCE: Dies after running about 2 minutes

It's got all the symptoms of a leak in the fuel line. You may want to start backward at the tank and work your way all the way to the carb to find it but it would be surprising if it was something else. All the best.
