These devices have several different scan engines and cannot be changed to do one or the other. The long range can scan at a close distance, however, short (standard) range cannot do both.

User manual for DOD DFX9 DIGITAL DELAY GUITAR PEDAL

Can't find a manual but can still explain. Delays, chorus, flangers, and reverbs are all the same effect except the different names of them will allow you different adjustments. Chorus usually has a width control which controls pitch shifting. Flangers and delays will have a feedback control which simply means, how many times you hear the echo. On reverb units, room size means how long of echo(even though it;s short) you want. Delay is the same with much longer echo, feedback is the same as on flangers except the flangers time is very short meaning the effect is at almost the exact time resulting in feedback causing a metalic sound. I probaly just confused you but good digital delays usually have all the features and will usually do all 4 effects depending on how you set them. If you want delay, set width on 0 and adjust time and feedback. For flanging, adjust width and speed and feedback. Chorusing, adjust time, width, and speed. Reverb, adjust time, set width on 0, and feedback. I see it has a level(mixture, how much effect you hear), and a replay(feedback, how many times you hear it), and a delay knob,(how long the echo will be) The range/mode switch allows for settings of diferent time lengths and INF setting allows for infinite repeat. Hope this helps.

MC9190 WLAN Problem

To permanently disable the Suspend Mode on a MC9190:
On your PC, create an empty text file, then type the 2 following lines:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
"BattSuspendTimeout" = dword:00000000

Save the file, then change the extension to ".reg". This changes the text file into a registry file.
Copy the registry file in the /Application folder of the scanner gun. Cold boot the device. Your MC9190 will no longer go to sleep mode, or "suspend mode".

To automatically enable the Wireless antenna at startup, create another registry file, then type the 2 following lines:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WLAN]
"InitialState"=dword:00000000
Save the file, and copy it into the /Application folder of the scanner gun. Cold boot the device.

On a MC9060 how do I set the beam width from long range to short range?

If it is a Lorax equipped unit, you can't. The extended range scanner in the Lorax scanner version will read a 'standard" barocde, but from farther away than a standard range scanner. You just have to find the sweet spot. If you have further questions, contact the Motorola help desk at 1-800-653-5350

Have some red shadowing in picture

Without seeing the set and checking it out, this is hard to accurately tell.

The following is when a single CRT or tube in a projection TV set starts to get weak. It is the same for a CRT when any one of its electron-guns starts to go weaker than the others.

On any CRT based set either with a single CRT or with seperate projection CRT's, as the tube(s) (CRT's) get weak their emission goes down. One of the symptoms is that the beam focus gets softer.

When a CRT goes weak the beam current will decrease. This lowers the mass or intensity of the electron beam. This makes the beam width wider, and thus the image focus is softer. Having a wider beam in a single CRT or single colour section of a CRT's electron gun also means that there will be more beam width overlap in comparison to the other CRT's or the other electron-guns in the case of a single CRT. This will give the appearance of an overlap or edging especialy with sharp or thin lines.

There is also a symptom where the convergence can get less accurate as the convergence control circuits age. This means that the scan tracking between each of the CRT's or the electron-guns in a single CRT start to not be able to accurately keep converged to each other. This will produce a border effect between the beam position accross the scanning of the screen.

Sometimes with a projection CRT set if there are separate focus controls in the high voltage (HV) section for each of the colours the beam focus may be able to be cheated if the CRT is not too weak. In most CRT sets the focus voltage is shared between all the colour channels, and thus there is no possiblity to control each channel individualy.

With weak CRT's there are other factors that come in to effect. One big one is that the colour tracking gets impossible to be accurate. This is because the gain liniarity of the tube becomes out of spec. As each of the CRT's or the electron-guns in a single tube become weak they will lose their tracking accuracy in relation to each other. In the design of the drive circuits of the better TV sets there are some auto circuits to try to make sure that the tracking is stable. But, when the electron-guns become too weak the circuits run out of range.
