Take the bar and chain off--run the engine--the oiler port from the case should discharge some oil. If none, you have trouble with the oil pump or the tubes to and from it. The oil tank may be leaking at the tank opening for the pickup tube. If oil appears at the oiler port, then there may be dirt/blockage within the oil passages in the bar end. Clean with compressed air.

Best way to replace chain oiler line on a 036 stihl saw

To replace the chain oiler line on a Stihl 036 chainsaw, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the chainsaw from starting accidentally.
  2. Drain the old chain oil from the oil tank.
  3. Remove the old chain oiler line from the chainsaw.
  4. Clean any debris or blockages from the oiler hole.
  5. Cut a length of new chain oiler line to the appropriate size. The line should be long enough to reach from the oil tank to the oiler hole on the bar.
  6. Attach one end of the new chain oiler line to the oil tank and the other end to the oiler hole on the bar.
  7. Secure the line in place with the appropriate fittings and clamp.
  8. Fill the oil tank with the recommended type and amount of chain oil.
  9. Reconnect the spark plug wire and test the chain oiler to ensure it is functioning properly.
It is important to use the correct type and amount of chain oil to ensure the chainsaw operates properly and to extend the life of the chain and bar. If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, it is recommended to have a professional chainsaw repair technician handle the repairs for you.

Chainsaw smoking and heating up when revs increased seems to be leaking oil

Chainsaws are 2 cycle engines and usually have a chain oil system installed. The engine type means oil is in the fuel and they can emit a lot of smoke if the fuel oil mixture is wrong. (40 to 1 is the usual mix.) If that is not the case then the carburetor might be out of adjustment. As for the leaking oil, check for a chain oiler system and make sure the right oil is in it.

Oil leak mcculloch electramac em250 ?

You have a cracked tank, or busted chain oiler. Will have to take apart to view the chain oiler , and check if oil is puddling just under the oil tank. There is some epoxy sealers, or gas tank stop leak material that can possibly repair the busted or leaking oil tank.

Poulan-Pro 295 leaks excessive bar-chain oil

It's a seal somewhere either on the reservoir, or the 'feed' to the bar.
But in the short term, if you must use it, the simplest way of stopping the leak, is to not store it with any oil in it, until you locate the source of the leak.
That should help, but I'll wish you good luck never the less ;)
& plz don't forget to rate, thankyou :)

Poulan oiler don't work

Common problem with Poulan and Craftsman gas saws. Take off the chain and chain guide and clean out all the saw dust etc. Start saw without chain and look for port where there are signs of oil. If port is clear of sawdust, then it is likely the pump which is located behind the chain break assembly. you can get the diagram on Poulan website and the replacement pump will cost about $15 - $20 to replace yours.

Chainsaw leaks chain oil when not in use

You might try loosing the oil cap on the chain oiler filler cap to release any preasure that might have built up during use and is forcing oil out as it sits. It sounds like a simple fix but it might just work.

Husqvarna 359 leaking chain oil

Remove the sprocket cover, bar, and chain. Find area where oil is discharged from case--is any part of the rubber seal damaged? Next, use compressed air to clean sawdust and dirt from oiler ports in rear of bar as well as the chain slot. Are you using motor oil instead of bar oil? Make sure there is nothing to prevent bar from making close contact with oiler port in case. Reassemble all parts and adjust chain tension.
