Step one, do a deep clean printhead, which if you have a touch panel on the printer, go to the ink the ink menu - on the top right of the printer panel, press More Options - then choose the option Deep clean printhead.
If you have a non-touch panel printer, press the Setup button, and go to the Maintenance menu, then choose the option Deep clean printhead.
If this doesn't fix it then you may need to update the printer firmware. Here is a link: Select your Printer Firmware
If you're able to print fine, try using our Lexmark Printer Home software to scan. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Lexmark Printer Home.

Your cartridge may need to cleaned. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button -> Maintenance -> Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If that doesn't help, your printer probably needs to be updated. The firmware update, available at http://bit.ly/p205fw, will help fix print quality issues.
Inkjet
printers do not like being left unused. The print head may be blocked. Try
several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print
nozzles. If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
A new cartridge will not solve this problem. NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money
towards a new and better printer.
