What do i do when my dell 1201 project turns off after 30 sec with orange light and turns off

It says it is a Mitsubishi WS-65809--can you confirm that?

That will be nothing to do with the lamp. It has a colour decoder fault.

Power LED flashes orange 1 x 5 secs. = 1 of 3 fans stopped. TEMP LED flashes 1 x 5 secs, = Temperature error. Lamp LED flashes 1 x 5 secs. = lamp ballast error. (check lamp 1st.)

Since your green light comes on momentarily, you may have hope. Look in your manual or on Dell website to how to reset your BIOS chip to the default. You do this with the power off, unplugged. There is a 3 pin jumper which should now be in the normal mode. Moving the jumper to the clear mode for 30 sec. should bring the Bios to default. Should the monitor stay on, you will have to set the time and date and maybe a couple other tweeks. Good luck.

If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.

Can you tell me if the status lights on the power adapter and/or the battery turns on? Because you are telling me the status lights only stay on for 30 seconds, this should be a power connection problem.

One other possibility: can you tell me the climate environment of where you use your laptop?

I had a similiar problem... I had to replace my bulb, which means $$$!
