Why does my sony tv and a DVD connected to tv, when turned on, shuts off right away?

TV was moved from one house to another on a truck. When connected to cable, DVD player, we turned on the tv and there was a red light that flashed on and 4 times and tv turned off..no picture. On the tv screen there is DVD in upper left hand corner. When I turn on the DVD it does same thing, turns on and then shuts off right away.

Sony DVD/VHS player to my TCL Roku TV

You can use the RCA style jacks, Yellow for video White for left and red for right audio OUT . Connect the TV end the same way. Note the source input number on the connectors of the TV. Turn both the TV and the Sony on. On the TV, select the input number the cables are connected to and you will see the Sony . If there are no unused places on the TV to connect to then take off the antenna/ cable wire off the TV and put it on the ANT IN connector of the Sony. Obtain a jumper cable wire long enough to reach the TV from the Sony and select either channel 3 or 4 whichever channel is not used in your area on the back of the Sony. Now turn both on and select TV as the source and put it on channel 3 or 4. Now turn off the Sony and change the channel on the TV to any other one in your area. If there is no picture, then the Sony will have to be on while watching TV.

Looking for the meaning of error code on the CED DUI or DU1 for a DCH3416

DUI is actually trying to display DVI on the box (the LED won't display the V and makes it a U). You typically see this error when your connected to your TV through an HDMI cable and the handshake for HDPC is lost. The box thinks your TV doesn't support it and wants you to change your connection. The error should go away once it finds that handshake. If you were using a different input on your TV, maybe a composite or something for a DVD, and then switch back it can get lost. If it doesn't clear right away try shutting everything off and turning it back on by turning on the TV first and then the box.

Connect Audio and Video out of DVD player respectively to DVD in of receiver. Good Luck :)

Power turns off right away

Its correct, Sony is no more selling plasma and I think many companies has already shut plasma production and CRT TV as well.
All TV manufacturers are busy in LCD TVs.

HDMI hook-up

Try scrolling thru the TV's video inputs. When you get the right one, the circuit will automatically recognize it and play provided it's connected properly
