Are Rolex battery operated also?

Only one model of Rolex watch, the Oysterquartz, has ever had a battery. This watch was produced in limited quantities from 1970 to 2001 and was removed entirely from Rolex's catalog in 2003.,,

Rolex st6 23zuan original or fake??

This is the hint regardless of Rolex. Look at the second hand and watch the motion! Does it sweep or tick? If it ticks it is battery operated watch knockoff.
Rolex is a self winding watch thus the second hand sweeps does not click each second.

My rolex datejust watch has stopped working...rolex watches don't operate on batteries right? Why has it stopped ticking?

mcdevito75 here, The answer is no, Rolex watches do not operate with a battery. Most Rolex watches are Automatic winding with the motion of your wrist / arm. Of course if you leave your Rolex on the dresser for say 30 hours, it will run down, simply hold the watch in your hand and with a gentle rocking motion say from 6--to 12 O'Clock for about 30 seconds, this will give your automatic Rolex an initial wind up, from there you just wear the watch and it will continealy wind itself. You may also have the non automatic Rolex in which case you would have to wind it dailey. If your Rolex will not run at all no matter what you try, Check out the repair service directory here at fixya, bottom of the page click on repair service directory then watches.

Rolex President Day-Date Men's Watch

Rolex, at one time, had a quartz (battery operated) watch. It was only manufactured in solid gold and was distinctive in style from other models. It is no longer being made. For all practical purposes, it you see a battery operated Rolex it is not genuine.

Cant open my rolex daytona watch

To open a Rolex watch you need a special Rolex tool to unscrew the case back. They are really on tight and the wrong tool can cause damage. Why mess up a good watch? Once you get in there, what do you hope to do? Change a battery? Nope they don't have one. So please take that fine watch to someone that really knows what to do'

I can not open the back cover of my Rolex Submariner, I hear something rattling inside.

If the watch is working okay, and it is a self-winding model (i.e. it doesnt not have a battery which relatively few Rolexs do) then the noise you probably can hear is the self-winding mechanism.
Rolex backs are very, very difficult to remove and watch repairers have special tools to do so. As a Rolex is an offically certified chronometer, and therefore has an incrediby accurate and complex mechanism, the backs are deliberatly designed to be difficult to remove by just anybody.
