The screen keeps flashing rear chk and the rear speakers are not making any sound.

I had the very same problem, and found that if you power up the receiver in DVD/CD mode, or tap the function button to display DVD/CB mode, the Wireless Rear Speaker AMP will automatically recognize and turn on the sound. This work around was not posted anywhere in the manual, just 1 of many workarounds I have had to put up with this system to work. Right now my fan went and it just keeps shutting down, I have had this system for about 15 months and very disappointed with the quality. My DVD player stopped working a few months ago, so now the system is rendered useless, not even sure it is worth fixing at this point since it is no longer under warrenty.

HTQ100

Hi Karl,
Can you use the unit after the symbol goes away?
The operating manual may be downloaded at;
http://safemanuals.com/annexe_INSTRUCTION%20MANUAL_SAMSUNG_HT-Q100T%20-%20HT-Q100-_E.htm#

The closest symbol to the one you mentioned is listed at page 28 of the manual. It is the "elapsed playing timer" symbol. This function is controlled by the "Remain" button.

Page 10 of the manual has a similar looking symbol warning you not to use certain incompatible disc formats;
Do not use the following types of disc!
• LD, CD-G, CD-I, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs cannot be played on this player.
If such discs are played, a "WRONG DISC FORMAT" message appears on the TV screen.
• DVD discs purchased abroad may not play on this player.
If such discs are played, a "WRONG REGION CODE" message appears on the TV screen.

Page 54 of the manual lists a reset procedure in case the unit power trips off or behaves errantly;
• Turn off the power and hold the button on the main unit for
longer than 5 seconds.
Using the RESET function will erase all stored settings.
Do not use this unless necessary.
Jango.

Toshiba Satellite M45-S351 PC Notebook

cutemah, Is your cd/dvd internal or usb? Have you tried to login using safemode? When the first Toshiba screen appears press the F8 key. Choose safe mode. Since you say the cd/dvd isn't being recognized that too may be the problem. Try removing the cd/dvd player and see if the machine starts. Is the error code only 0x57 or is there more? It is sounding more hardware related than software related. What program are you using to format the hard drive? Send me a little more information please. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
