Where is there a sound button on a vivitar camera

It sounds like it has let water in, or if not used in water, the switch is faulty. did you check that the charger is producing power? You may be able to claim warranty repair if it let water in.

What model Vivitar camera? Many models do not record sound at all, only images.

Sounds like the switch has gone bad, this is not a user fix and needs to be replaced.

The ViviCam 5022 is designed primarily as a still camera, with some video capabilities grafted on. It does not record sound. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.

Unfortunately that's the way it is. The ViviCam does not record sound. It's basically a still camera with a little video capability grafted on. It's not a camcorder.

First, you need to have an SD card installed; the 8025 will not record video to internal memory. Second, be aware that the 8025 will not record any sound to accompany the video.

Press the Home button to bring up the main menu. Select Movie Mode (movie camera icon). Press the shutter button to begin shooting. Press the shutter button to stop shooting and save the file.

One of my cameras is a Vivitar and it records the sound but it doesn't have a speaker for playback and yours is about the fifth question I've seen on here about Vivitar cameras. I'm starting to believe that none of them have a speaker. Download the clip, the sound should be there.

The reason you get no sound on playback of videos is that this camera has no Microphone. This is one of the most disappointing features of the camera as whilst it has video capability it has no ability to record Audio.

Vivitar have omitted this feature on several models to keep costs down and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it in terms of adding audio.

If you have a video editing program on your computer you may be able to add a voice over or a soundtrack to the video by using this method but no original audio can be recorded.

Attaching the lens will make no difference.
It sounds like the release button on the camera may be faulty.
