Try taking the battery out and wait a few seconds and then put it back in.....make sure the battery is full. and Place it on the back with the lens facing up and take a look at the spacing between the lens and the lens housing. If you notice that the gap is not even all the way around the lens, the problem should be easy to fix. This type of a problem usually occurs if the camera was dropped while the lens was extended. Simply - VERY GENTLY - press down the lens on the side where the gap is the biggest. You should hear a "click" as it pops back into place. Try powering the camera back on.

Please check the memory card with your PC and check if there are any corrupt files within. If so remvoe and format the card , Also so a virus scan and confirm that the Sd card is clean.
Now insert and check. If however the card is found in good condition in the first place then there are errors in the interface to the processor in the camera which might need a technical help from the Canon-service center.
