you have not mentioned which model JVC camera you have bought, any ways, if it has with both memory card and minidv cassette facility, then you require a fire wire card to transfer cassette contents, and for stills on card insert the card to the slot and then connect it to the computer through USB cable, then the computer will recognise your camera.

What happen when you charge your battery? is it getting full easily, and once attached with your camera will work for few minutes only? If so, change your battery. Hope this helps

Need driver for grd 50as for windos7

I have found that they aren't updating their drivers for camcorders that aren't still being made. You can check their website at "http://www.jvc.com/support/index.jsp" for any updates and help that you may need. I hope this helps.
