I have a JE1860 Microwave that is about 5 years old.It looks like about 5 inches of the seam inside the cavity is cracked in the rear bottom corner and is showing signs of rust below the paint. Is this dangerous? Can I Caulk it with something?
It will have to be sanded smooth and
clean and dried thoroughly.
Then if the steel seam is actually cracked / separated, then you can apply a very thin bead of steel-based epoxy "J-B WELD". When it dries thoroughly, you can sand it smooth.
Then you can apply some
high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart,
Lowe's or Builder's Square.
If it's just the paint that's cracked, it will have to be sanded smooth and
clean and dried thoroughly.
