It will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then if the steel seam is actually cracked / separated, then you can apply a very thin bead of steel-based epoxy "J-B WELD". When it dries thoroughly, you can sand it smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If it's just the paint that's cracked, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Why is it rusting inside?

Check with the manufacturer of unit directly to see what they can or will do for you. If cosmetics are not covered under the warranty you may be out of luck. But as you say it is less than a year old and have your receipt handy .................

Where to buy cavity for microwave oven?

Sorry, but the best and probably only safe option is to replace the whole microwave. I have been working on microwaves for 25 plus years and anytime I came across a hole anywhere in the cavity we replaced the microwave.

Flashing and buzzing in microwave while operating.

This sounds like carbon build up reacting to RF energy. You need to find where the burn spot is and correct it. It's probably behind or on the waveguide cover usually on the right side of the oven cavity. It looks like a brownish-tan plate about 2-3 inches by 4-5 inches. It's actually made out of mica or plastic. If you can't find the source of this problem, it may be inside the waveguide in which case the unit is not really repairable.

Hmv9305/01 microwave @ 13months old the magnetron blew, authorized bosch repairman, replaced using bosch magnetron. warranty for 90 days jan of 2011 same problem, why does this happen? should i ditch...

With all due respect, what are you doing to it?
If you use it with nothing in the cavity, that will kill the magnetron otherwise it will last for years and years.
Very unusual and Bosch is a well respected name.
If there is a probem with the oven, Bosch will replace it so take it up with Bosch.

The White enamel/paint in the interior of the microwave, by the base & back wall seem has peeled off - about 2 inches. I see unpainted metal & I am concerned. How do you fix this problem and is it...

The area will first have to be sanded smooth and cleaned and dried thoroughly.

If the cavity metal of the oven is cracked or split, you can use a small amount of steel-based epoxy such as JB-WELD to patch the crack or hole.

Once that dries thoroughly, you can sand it very smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

Microwave about 3 years old. Started making a bag of popcorn and after about 1 min. the unit started making a sizzling and grinding sound and a puff of smoke was noticed at the inside right panel opening....

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck somewhere in the cavity of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover (also called a spatter shield) is usually about the size of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the metal of the oven wall is burned or chipped, the area will first have to be sanded smooth and cleaned and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If the cavity metal of the oven is cracked or split, you can use a small amount of steel-based epoxy such as JB-WELD to patch the crack or hole.

Once that dries thoroughly, you can sand it very smooth, then apply paint.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced.

It provides critical protection for the magnetron.

Arcing inside and there is now a small hole on the panel side. Is this fixable?

Hi,

It looks like there's lightning (arcing) inside my microwave When you see arcing inside your microwave, it's because of food or liquid left in the cavity or on the wave-guide cover:

  • If the wave guide has any burn spots, replace it and clean the unit well.

  • If the cavity has any burn spots, spot-sand it smooth and touch it up with microwave interior paint.

Note… If there are any burn holes in the cavity, don't use the unit-seek help from a qualified appliance repair technician.
