Good Afternoon Leslie,

I understand you are unable to start your Frigidaire dishwasher unless it is on a delayed cycle. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My delay light has come on and I cant get the dishwasher to start. The delay light goes out after the time has expired but if you try to move it to the start position the light comes on again

The Control is programmed to stop running and not allow any further cycles if it detects a water heating problem (no temperature increase detected in heated Main Wash on 3 consecutive cycles). The Control will flash the Clean LED 7 times repeatedly and will disable the Start/Resume key until cleared.

To clear and reset the control press in this order: Heated Dry ? Normal ? Heated Dry ? Normal and then let the unit run for 1-2 minutes and then press Cancel and let the dishwasher complete the cancel cycle. The dishwasher should operate normally again unless it does not detect a temperature rise in the main wash cycle.

It could be caused by a Heater circuit problem if it continues to stop and flash the Clean light.

It could have one of the following failures:
Open in heater.
Open connection or component in heater circuit.
Faulty heater drive circuit on control.
It can also be caused by the wash pump not pumping water past the heater efficiently.

I have a frigidaire FMB1100RHMO and first i was having a water problem and then i got the clog out. I have water pressure now but now it get stuck in the wash mode and dont come out unless i cancel it....

Hello Theresa Norman-Ramirez - Typically, it is normal for the dishwasher to delay the cycle and depending on the cycle and options selected, the cycle may last up to 4 hours. To reduce cycle time, turn on the hot water at the sink and allow it to get as hot as possible (between 120 F-130 F), then start the dishwasher. If the dishwasher cycle runs longer than 4 hours the main control board may need replacing. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.

Purple light is on and cycle won't start

It's possible that you have put the dishwasher into delay mode. Try powering off at the powerpoint as this will force a reset of all programming.

The pause/start button also sets the Delay Start feature which can delay the start of a wash program
from 1 to 12 hours.

To cancel Delay Start
Press the I button.

Does this dishwasher have a lock button?

Hello - Yes, it does have a child lock control. It is design to prevent children from accidently change the dishwasher cycle or starting the dishwasher. It locks the dishwasher controls by pressing and releasing the DELAY TIME icon for 3 seconds. Do you see an indication lock light on your dishwasher illuminate? It will usually appear when the controls are locked and no new selections can be made until the lock is released. To unlock the controls, press the DELAY TIME icon under the indicator light goes out.

Dishwasher ran all night still not finished. Error code 4H displaying.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The 4H is indicating your dishwasher is in the delayed wash start mode. Here is some information from Sears about what to do:

  • The number letter combination indicates that the dishwasher is in a "Delay Start" mode, as well as how many hours were set for the delay start.
  • The dishwasher will not start the wash until it reaches the delayed hour that it was set for. Example: 1H = 1 hour delay start, 2H = 2 hour delay start, etc.
    • To start the dishwasher immediately and not wait for the Delay Start time, cancel the "Delay Start" option, by pressing the Cancel button. Then program the cycle and options and press Start.
    • To start the dishwasher after the Delay time, select the cycle and options desired. Select the "Delay Start" option and on some dishwashers it requires, pressing the Start button.
    • Some dishwashers will display a countdown of the delay time on the display.
Note: Refer to the Owner's Manual or Use & Care Guide for specific instructions on using the "Delay Start" feature.

If you need more assistance we will need your exact model number in any of your future responses.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

The dishwasher will start to cycle. I can hear the water begin to run. I hear a click and at the time the dishwasher should start to run the cleaning cycle. During the cleaning cycle the dishwasher will...

This is probably okay, you have clock like motions running the motor electric contacts. There needs to be a delay between some cycles or shorting will occur. The motor on some designs, for example. is reversed to pump out water. to have this work long term, a delay is inherent and not a concern.
