SOURCE: False Paper Jam

Hello,

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, from India-Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to Paper Jam error messages even though there is no paper jam in printer . I would like to provide my suggestions on the issue. I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.

This issue could happen if there is an issue with any small paper jam in the Printer, or due to the communicational issue .

To isolate the issue, I recommend you to perform below steps.

Steps are:

--------------

1. Power OFF printer and then please Disconnect the Printer from Computer and then disconnect the Power cable of Printer from wall outlet.

2. Check thoroughly in Printer that there is no small piece of paper in the Printer.

3. Let the Printer be disconnected and idle for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile please perform further steps on Computer.

Note: The below steps are applicable if you are using WINDOWS 2000/XP/VIsta Operating system in  your PC

  Steps are:

--------------------

Perform the below steps to restart the print spooler :

1. Click Start>Run

2. Type services.msc

3. Click OK

4. A Window will pop up with so many services listed.

5. Scroll down to locate "print spooler" in the list, right click on it and click "Restart"

6. Restart the Computer.

Once if you are done with steps, please connect the Printer and then Power ON Printer and check the issue.

This should resolve the issue for you.

If you need any further assistance on the issue, you can mail me at [email protected] . I'll be glad to help you.

Bye.

Had the same problem with mine. Shook it upside down and cleaned it with air cans after reading this solution for other canon printers:

To my surprise, it worked perfectly... and was great stress relief.

SOURCE: My canon ip2600 printer has a paper jam error, but there isn't.

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Turn the darn thing over and shake it. there's probably something in there. In mine it was a miniature oyster cracker. Works great now but I was about to go insane until i shook it out.

Canon Pixma MX410. PAPER JAM PRINTER ERROR, always getting a paper jam error.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Pixma MX410.

Unplug the machine. Remove paper trays. Open all the doors, slide the carrier and remove the cartridges' and print head. Use a flashlight and look for a small piece of torn paper. Clean the rubber feed roller with a soapy cloth. Replace the paper with new from an unopened pack as what you have may be damp. Put it all back together and try again.

MX410 paper jam without paper jam

Either there is a small fragment of paper still hidden in the carriage somewhere, or the sensor is defective. If you can't seem to locate the problem, it would be best to contact Canon directly and ask technical service for assistance.

Canon mx410 paper jam error

For me on my Cannon MX410 with a "paper Jam" light displayed this WORKED!! The absolute BIZZARE thing was after I went and through the described procedure above and rebooted and tried to print the 1st page that came out had a "crushed" ****-roach on the 1st page! So I didn't have a paper jam,...but a
ROACH Jam. :) I told my wife, Humm pest service not workin I guess! It errored out again, but simply unpluggingUSB and power cord (not the steps described for the Print Spooler) it prints fine. SO saved me buying a new printer which was just 6 mos. OLD and FINE by me! So THX, Vikram Kumar Thumu!
