SOURCE: fn key for laptop sony vaio vgn-s460p

the function keys doesnt need any extra driver.

but if you want to use tha additional features of function key like save, load, close and many more then you can get the software directly from official website of sony. alternativel you can download hotkeycontrol xp by which you can reconfigure you keyboard to add extra feature and options

Fn key vaio vgn fz140e

Are you Pressing and Holding the FN Key then hit the other key to make it work.

See if there are Windows 7 Drivers for your system on the manufacturers site.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Sony Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the drivers.

Function keys of sony VAiI laptop is not working.

you will need to install the drivers as your computer has been formatted.
If you have the driver back-up disk then you can install the drivers from that disk or you can get the driver for making your hotkeys work by going to
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select...=24&NAVDISP=pc and entering in your model number, so you can access sony driver downloads, user guides, Frequently asked questions, technical specs, product alerts, and other stuff about your laptop.
let me know if this worked or not.

FN keys don't work on Sony VAIO VGN-SZ18GP

The solution is as follows, which worked for me:

- Install Windows 7
- let it update all the drivers that it needs to
- Install additional Sony drivers that you need (XP drivers work just fine, but make sure to install them in Administrator mode, so, Run as Administrator), such as camera, fingerprint scanner, etc
- Install the Notebook Control Device Driver (without this the other software does nothing)
- Sony Utilities DLL
- Sony Shared Library

* restart computer *

- Sony Video Shared Library
- SUS (Setting Utility Series)

* restart computer *

- VES (VAIO Event Service)

After this one the Fn keys will start to work. The S1 and S2 keys don't work due to something to do with UAC (but I don't need them anyway)

- VAIO Control Centre (will allow you to change what the S1 and S2 keys do, even though you can't use them :) )

That's it and it worked for me.
