• Check the printers connections.Well connected?
  
• Turn it off and disconnect everything and then re-connect again.

My Dell Laser printer went offline and I cannot get back online

Try taking the printer offline, deleting the stuck print job as well as the other jobs. Then, open the Services applet & restart the Print Spooler service. This would clear the error.

it could be a conflict between two different software... have you installed anything recently? if so it maybe conflicting with your printer.. go to www.ccleaner.com and download the program then go to tools tab then startup and then click on the program for your fax and click disable.. this may correct your problem

Open the back cover and look for paper wrapped around a roller back there. That is the most common cause of the issues with this machine. The other thing you can try is to push down on the little flaps where the paper comes out of the printer. These get stuck and need cleaning/replacement all the time in the later life of these models (1720's).
