Nice way to brick a good PC, I have ever seen.
why do that,?"evil"?
the correct answer is ask HP for help
there are 4 ways that work at HP.(history all)
1: old PC jumper resets, not yours.
2: RTC coin cell out battery main, and ac power pack removed, and put all back and its reset. (old pcs only)
3: HP has back door to BIOS passwords resets
on vast numbers of PC's before the PITA UEFI rules are enforced (window 8 up) not yours.
4: last are the newer pCs HP has direct intervention way to reset it , to ask them,
sorry Fixya IS NOT HP, and the ask for your
PCs service tag and UUID, serial #
then then send you a reset program that only works on YOUR PC, nobody Else's.
there now, you know the correct ways all
this old post the
OP has contradictory facts.
HP ProBook 4510s
then says hp 6540b
but is a probook and probooks
must be #4 above reset.
with HP direct help, that is why they call it a probook, (cost more too just for this rule)
so hacking it does not work and only bricks the PC.
also related is if the disk is encrypted
and if the full security package HP is enabled,(and for sure was installed new)
all that matters, or YOU WILL BRICK that PC.
end BIOS resets. HP only. by year and model.
always ask here first. not fixya,
the real HP is here, and answers correct.https://h30434.www3.hp.com/
