You have tried all the usual resets?
Turn the NOOK off completely.
Hold the Power button and Home (n) buttons. The device will turn on. Continue to hold both buttons until the device shuts off once again (~15-20 seconds).
Turn the device on normally. It will prompt for a factory reset. Press the Home button twice to confirm.
However that said, it sounds like you have a hardware fault, maybe screen connector or screen itself. Not really economically repairable in my opinion
TRY a hard reset on the Nook if that doesn't work i know of this fantastic site BNTPrice.com that sells them for cheap. i hope this works for you
Press the "n" button to display the quick nav bar.
In the quick nav bar, tap the Settings icon.
In the Device Settings section, tap Device Info.
Tap Erase & Deregister Device.
Stop. Think. Think again.
If you really, really want to do this, go to Step 7. If not, tap the Back button.
Tap the Erase & Deregister Device button.
