It shut down automatically and won't turn on after that.

The computer/laptop is heated up too much on the same place. You have to wait about 5-10 minutes if it automatically closes, so it it gets cold.

My Sony VGN CR25 laptop shuts down automatically. What is the issue and how can it be fixed?

If you are notusing your laptop on a flat surface, it may be obstructing the cooling vents onthe bottom of the laptop. Your laptop fanmay be faulty and not spinning freely, in this case replace the fan.
Check the fan and heat sink assembly and remove the dust, loosen the dust anduse a can of compressed air to clear away the dust. A laptop fanassisted cooling pad may solve your problem

My laptop Sony Vaio CS 320J is shutting down with out any notice(not proper shut down but poweroff while running) and not booting again for @ least 2 mins. recently this issue started and this is...

Remove the bottom pan to expose the cooling fan, clean all dirt out of the heat sink and fins, and clean fan, next remove the heat sink to expose the processor ic, remove the old thermal grease with rubbing alcohol, and apply fresh thermal conductive compound to the heat sink and processor, "not to much! just enough to cover the critical areas and assemble. In most cases this will solve the shutdown problem.

My laptop sony pntium 3 shuts down suddenly after

There might be dust blocking the heat vents. Use compressed air can to blow out the dust. During summer, dont not use the laptop without a properly cooling system. The motherboard is programmed to cut off power if the heat reaches a particular threshold, to prevent component damage.

Vgn-cs26m will not start, boot into windws and shuts down

kevin,
Is this the pink sony vaio? Looks familiar . . .
The problem with this model of sony vaio is the fan that's why it keeps on shutting down after a few minutes. If you notice there is no activity on the internal fan. The internal fan and heat sink is on the same module.I have already replaced the fan on one of this models and its now working just fine.
just look for a spare fan on ebay . . .
hope this helps . . .
