SOURCE: needle clamp won't attach to needle bar

There is a set screw above the needle pin screw which tightens with an allen wrench--try that.

SOURCE: needle will not stay in?

Buy a new pack of needles to make sure you do not have defective needles, if that doesnt work get a new thumb screw and if it still doesnt work you need a new needle bar.

SOURCE: i have a two needle machine. i am currently only

the flat side goes toward the back of the machine. Yes, push it all the way up in the carrage, before tightening the screw.
also check the thread tension to make sure it's not to tight for the thread
also use a can of air in the looper area at least once or twice a month, depending on how much you use the machine
always keep the machine covered when not in use to keep dust out of the machine

My needle keeps falling out. I unscrewed the set screw, put the new needle in, then it falls out. I had just taken out an old needle by unscrewing the set screw and didn't touch anything else. Help

Be sure to unscrew the set-screw and extra turn and then insure you are pushing the needle all the way up before tightening it. Could also mean the set screw is stripped...

How do I change a broken needle?

You need to tell us make and model when you post a question for us to give you a really good answer.

Here the generic way to replace a needle:
  1. Raise the needle fully.
  2. Look for a thumb-screw right where the needle joins the needle mechanism.
  3. Loosen the thumb-screw and catch the broken needle when it falls out.
  4. Put a new needle in the place occupied by the broken needle. Be sure the flat side of the needle is away from you.
  5. Tighten the thumb-screw.

Replacing a needle

All the machines I have had have a twist screw, right beside the needle, on the right of the needle. Raise your needle lever into the upright position, so the needle isn't in the machine. You use your thumb and first finger and turn the twist screw backwards. You can then pull your needle down and it will fall out of the needle holder. Insert a new needle, making sure the holes in the needle are front to back, not side to side, and tighten the twist screw.

Needle clamp fell off. got a new one, but need

I have an XL6452 and the same problem. I figured out that you can use a tiny screw driver (or an allen wrench might work). I tried using the screw that tightens the needle but it didn't seem to work. The screw looks like it just a hole. It took a lot of turns to get it loose enough so you can put it on. You will see it come out.
Once you get it on you can tighten it.

Needle holder falls off, won't stay on. It's done this before but stopped for a while. I don't even see what holds it on there. I am so irritated with it.

My husband used a 5/64 allen wrench to reattach my needle holder. There is a small black set screw directly above the screw that you tighten to hold the needle in place. I just looks like a small black hole, but there is a screw in there. Use the wrench to tighten it and you should be good to go.
