I am getting a F1 code in my washer which causes it to stop several times during a wash cycle, what do I need to do?

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

If you own a Whirlpool Cabrio and are experiencing an F1 error, you're unable to finish or start a load of clothes. When the Whirlpool Cabrio displays an F1 error, this means the the control board is having difficulty communicating with the motor.

To fix your F1 error, you can first try to unplug your washing machine for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. If this doesn't work, you will need to replace the control board. The only tools that you need to replace the control board is a Phillips screw driver and a 1/4" hex head driver. Be sure to unplug the machine from the electrical outlet before performing any repairs.
After unplugging your Whirlpool Cabrio washer, carefully pull the washer away from the wall (Watch your drain hose and the two inlet hoses.) Next unscrew the 3 screws located on the back of the Whirlpool Cabrio. Next, take a picture or make note of where each plug connects to the control board. Next, unplug each plug and the pressure tube. Lastly, unscrew the 1/4 screw then remove control board. Replace with new control board and reverse your steps to install. The new board will fix the Whirlpool Cabrio F1 error.

Whirlpool error code f1

F1 error usually signals a problem with the control board. However, there are a few other things you can try before spending money on a new control board

To remove the error, press Pause/Cancel twice. Unplug the machine for 2 minutes and then plug it in. Select a cycle and press Start. In some cases, this will reset the F1 error.

If your machine is under warranty, you should of course contact Whirlpool and they should repair it free of charge. Even if it's out of warranty, note there seem to be a lot of people who experienced F1 errors on Whirlpool washers and there has been a recall of some models. You can contact Whirlpool and see if your model is one of them.

If this doesn't work out, here is what you can do. The reason for the error can be blockage inside the pressure switch hose. You should check the hose for blockage and there are instructions online on how to do it. If the hose is fine, you should then most probably replace the control board. It's an easy repair. Here are the instructions on how to check the hose and how to replace the control board: Whirlpool F1 Error

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions

I am purchaging 3star whirlpool refrigirator but in my village voltage range from 150 below. I have purchaged v gaurd stabilizer for voltage purpose but its run only 150 above range only. But now problem...

V guard and other branded stabilizers will not work below 150 volt. What you need is a locally made stabilizer (but make sure it has good quality transformer, relay etc) which almost doubles the voltage. You will have to tell the stabilizer dealer that you need voltage doubler kind of stabilizer. These work for as low as 100v and give out about 180v. Also make sure that this stabilizer is for refrigerator i.e., has a delay timer so that it gives 3 min of gap between subsequent power cuts.

Also if you look for more brands, Whirlpool is a good brand but some other brands like Samsung have operating voltage as low as 135v so consider this when buying new refrigerator.

GE GSS25LGMA refrigirator/freezer refrigirator side is freezing

There is an electrically activated air dampener in the upper left back side of the refrigerator section which most likely has broken (in the open position), allowing cold air from the freezer to continue to enter the fresh foods section. Replace the dampener assembly.

Whirlpool Cabrio top loading washer F1 Error

F1 means the control board is shot. Call whirlpool and they should take care of the parts and labor even though your machine is out of warranty.

How to install a new temp sensor Whirlpool electric water heater

The instructions for installing the sensor will probably included with the new part. Also, when you receive the part and actually see it, you will probably know where it will go. Sometimes, things like this happen even with new units. I have had bad thermocouples on brand new units right from the factory. It happens and unfortunately it happens to us sometimes. Good luck and if you get the part and still have trouble, contact them again. If you would have bought a GE (Rheem) unit, they would have sent a tech out to your house at no cost. I'm not a fan of Whirlpool water heaters.
