Im trying to join my wireless router with my iphone its not taking my password. The power went out I had to push the button on the back of the router to get my computer to work but I cant get our phones to join its a Asus RT-N66U

#im asuming you want to use the internet on your table using the iphone 5 as the wireless router ?
if this is the case you will need to set up a wireless hotspot on your iphone by going to Settings--> Personal Hotspot set up a password and your off, on the tablet search for wireless connections and join the iphone after that your surfing on your tablet. be warned that this will seriously drain your data unless you have a high allowance

There is a number on the back or bottom of ur wireless router that is what I had to put in on my phone

I am assuming that you are trying to connect to the internet using the built in wifi instead of the 3G. To clarify, iphones don't have passwords for wifi. Wireless access points and wireless routers are the ones that have passwords. If you want to connect to the internet using an access point or router you must get the SSID of the router or access point and also the encryption and password to join said access point or router.

Once you have this information go to your iphone and select the settings icon. Then select the Wi-Fi, then turn on the wi-fi (if it is off), then under choose a network select "Other" and then type in the name (which is the SSID), tap on "Security", select the encryption that matches your access point or router (wep, wpa, wpa2, etc) tap on "Other network" (on the top left hand corner) to go back to the configuration page, and then type in the correct password.

Once you have done this your iphone will automatically connect to the access point or router whenever it is in range and connect to the 3G when it is out of range of the access point or router.

what you want to do is go to your computer and make sure that your wireless router is discoverable because if its not your iPhone will not detect it also what you want to do is make sure that your iPhone's WiFi is enabled to do that go to settings WiFi and enable and remember when you try to connect to enter the password right and if all that doesn't work try holding the home and power button and wait till it turns off and boots up.

The password that my Iphone required was the 20 digit key located on the sticker as WPA-PSK. Hope this helps someone!

I wonder if your router is set to perform MAC address filtering. If so, you have to either find the MAC address of the iPhone's wireless card and add it to your router's appropriate list, or set your router to not filter by MAC addresses.

Ok, just to check. Sometimes it is required for router to be in pairing mode, depends on router. So just check to see if there is a pairing button and if so give it a press then try this.

Go settings, Wi-Fi and select the network you want to connect to (tap the network text, not the blue arrow on the right).

The iPhone will then ask you for a password. Check underneath or on your router and you will see a long wireless key with various characters in it.

Depending on your system enter into the password box the first 5 or 13 characters for non-hex, or the first 10 or 26 characters for hex. Mine is the first 10.

Then click "join" and the small Wi-Fi fan should replace 3G.

I will try to help you out with this....

Might be you tried to cinnect with the network many time thats why its keep on disconnecting,

you can delecte all the netwoks that you have in you 3G Iphone and try to connect fresh, if its still give you the same error then you need to change the channel on the router if still it wont connect I suggest you to change tehw ireless settings on you router and reconnect all the computer and you Iphone again with the new network...

Steps are below before you change any settings on teh router i would like to inform you that you will loss your wireless connection till you reconfigure and reconnect you computer with the new network again........

open the internet explorer on your wired computer
type in 192.168.1.1or you can type http://routerlogin.com
, it will prompt you for user name and password, the user name will be 'admin' and password will be 'password', make sure you type it in small case

click on the wireless settings under the heading of setup

check out another screen shot below :


a. Change Name SSID : name of your network that you want to have
b. CHANNEL : Change to 11 and if uts 11 change it to 06
c. Mode : change to G&b
d. Sceurity : Select WEP
e. Key1 ; type any 10 digit number or you can type 1020304050, as mention above as the password for your wireless network

you will able to see your wireless network name on your computer, simply select it and it will prompt you for password that will be your 10 digit number you punch in Key1

connect with it and you are ready to go with your wired and wireless connection

Just hook it all up, and push and hold the reset button in the back of the router for 10 sec..

Then unplug your internet box, [cable/DSL box] and plug back in,
The internet box will send a IP to your router automaticly.

[If it dont work unplug power from both boxes, then back in but plug the internet box in first..]

done..

if your useing wireless this will not be setup with a password to join, and will be open to neighbors,,

If you want to go to the next step and setup a password to join, you can do this with out the cd also, but get it working first and hit me back

If you press the reset button you only make a reboot.
To reset all the value to the factory setting you have to:
- Power off the device
- Hold the reset button pressed
- While you press the reset button put the power back on

Now your gateway address is again 192.168.1.254, login is admin and password is not present (leave it blank).
