Good Morning Friend,
You want to disable your crushed ice maker on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS26R4A. You will need to push the "Cube" button for the ice dispenser to stop dispensing crushed ice. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully.
-Best Regards-

SOURCE: ice maker will only make crushed ice
There is a rod on the back of the ice cube bin. It goes below a plastic slide in the back of the fridge. If yoiu pull the bin out and it does not engage right, you will be 'stuck' on crush. Pull the bin part way out and see whether the rod is going below or above the horizonal rung in the rear. If it is above, rotate the metal control until it will slip under the rung.

Behind the ice bucket is a metal housing that holds the auger motor and solenoid. The solenoid is bad. When you go for cubed ice that solenoid should pull up the metal rod on the ice bucket so full cubes will come out. First check to make sure the metal rod on the ice bucket isn't somehow caught under the solenoid and not letting if move up and down. You can take out the ice bucket and press for cubed ice. You should hear a loud clunk noise. If not then you know the solenoid is not working.

not really a reset button but htere is a solenoid that controls the type of ice coming out of dispenser. with the ice bucket in place give a look at it from underneath and find the brass rod spanning from front to back of bucket. that rod hooks into a solenoid catch that when activated lifts the rod up and down for crushed/ or cubed ice.. after locating the "hole" in which the rod enters you should also see a corresponding plastic ring that would catch the rod upn activating stich and pull/up and down.. Ill assume that the "catch ring" is tuck in the up positon , might only be frozen up in which case you can hit it with a hair dryer to melt it, its also possible that the \solenoid had melted it self in the up position in which case you need to replace it.. to check this theory you can hook the brass rod into the ring assy in which case youll only dispense cubed no crushed

Check the bar below the icemaker bin. There is a gold color metal bar that goes from the front of the bin to the back and goes into a lever at the back of the freezer. If the bar gets on the wrong side of the lever it will be stuck in crushed mode.
SOURCE: Ice maker only producing crushed ice, only I have
We had this problem and have visited several friends houses in our neighborhood who all have
appliances of approximately the same age, 6 to 7 years old and found this to be quite common.
The solution to this specific problem was rather simple, and has proven effective on several different brands, to the relief of many befuddled husbands and frustrated wives and now happier children.
Though the mechanism is in a slightly different location on some models.
I removed the ice hopper and looked in the back of the freezer and found the steel drive prongs that power the feed screw inside the ice hopper.
An inch down and a few inches to the right of it I found the mechanism that actuated the arm to open the chute for cubes or keep it closed for crushed ice. (on the Frigidaire Gallery Series)
I held the interior light switch closed and had someone push the ice lever on the outside and observed the drive prongs turn, but the mechanism that actuated the arm to open the chute did not move.
Stuck my finger in there and pushed it upwards manually and after a brief moment of resistance it moved freely.
Re-tested the operation of the mechanism that actuated the arm to open the chute, and it now opened when the ice lever was depressed and set to cube, and stayed closed when it was set to crush.
With the money we saved on the service call, I took the family out for chinese food.
