SOURCE: I've just bought a second hand Jet 3 Power chair

on the Jet the charger light will come on only after it has charged the batteries if the light comes on green as soon as you plug it in then there is a problem in the charger circuit (loose connection or disconnected cable) also check your battery connections to make sure you don't have a loose connection or unplugged cable because that will cause the charger light to turn green as soon as you plug it in and you won't have power to the joystick. Hope this helps

SOURCE: The batteries we put in

The charger from you have indicated is faulty not working properly the needle should not be going back and forth but once in the charging mode should be stable reading and drawing down to 0 slowly as the charge is taking place on the batteries you may wish to replace the on-board charger. In the meantime you can use a trickle charger at home from the wall.

Or a battery charger make sure that it is set to the lowest charge point 6 volts. This will do the same thing as an on-board charger for the scooter. Until you replace the faulty one on the scooter. I would also bring it in and have it checked out as well for a second opinion. They can do a quick test on the unit and maybe it is a simple part replacement and not the whole unit this is how I would deal with it. Thanks for using FixYa! John

SOURCE: my invacare auriga 3 wheel scooter will not work

Invacare Meteor Hillclimber. I have replaced the old batteries with 2 x FullRiver 12v 65Ah batteries. The charger is the original one supplied with the scooter by Invacare, 24v 8amp. I returned the batteries to the supplier for testing as they appeared not to be fully charging. The batteries tested out to be in perfect working order. It was suggested by the battery supplier that for reasons not known to them that the batteries were not being fully charged. My charger is showing that it is fully charging the batteries through the three stages. It has always been my practice to put the scooter on charge after every use. I am thiking of getting the scooter checked out by an auto electrician. Hope you can shed some light on this problem. Cheers Brian

SOURCE: Have a Pride Maxima 4

Hi,
I see you checked everything but still the unit will not run at all.
Here is a link where you can as well download the Manual and information on how the wiring and assembly should be.
I check your concern, the only possible causes could be related to power I believe you mentioned that you already check all connections right, I guess it won't hurt to check the + and - Terminals have the correct cable to it, also make sure the both battery Harnesses are from both batteries are are plugged into their mating Harnesses leading to the charger.

if I understanding this correctly , you cannot use the scooter why it is being charged, there is a inhibit pin that stops the scooter from being used,
All scooters are designed this way.

Scooter wiring diagram

Bad connections on the battery posts is most likely. If the circuit breaker was bad you'd get nothing at the battery . The charger voltage is 29 volts when not connected to the batteries. 26 or more when connected and on.

Can you charge scooter without taking the batteries out? Is there an exterior spot to plug in?

You can charge the batteries with your offboard charger and the battery pack still on the scooter just plug the charger into the charger port on the side of the battery case and then plug it into the wall socket and charge overnite Will work just like if you removed the battery pack from the scooter. Hopw this helps you

Revo pride 2 year old scooter never used will not take charge

Well I hope I can be of Some help, If the batterys on a scooter are not charged daily after use they will deplete, in other words loss there power/charge.so each time you miss a charge the batteries will start lossing there life expectancy.that is why it Is very important to not miss a charge. When your batteries dont take a charge, that's basically saying you need new batterie. One way to make sure Your batteries need change and not your charger .... First trickle charge the batteries Second install the batteries back on the scooter Third plug in your charger it should kick on Good luck

The scooter is not taking the charge, the light stays yellow & red.

hi, first check the charger, can you try another charger ?

if you're convince the charger is charging ok then it points to the batteries being tired and need replacing but first check the connections to make sure there is not a loose connection.

Spare Batteries for Pride Revo Scooter

You can't do it with a car battery charger as it takes a 24 volt charger and it has to be designed to charge the sealed batteries that go in scooters and power chairs or you will blow the batteries up!

Order another battery case and swap the battery packs on the scooter with the spare pack once a week. Sealed batteries do not store well and need to be charged fully at least once a month to ensure long life. These batteries aren't cheap, and it's worth keeping them in shape.

Battery shows 24.8 volts no power

Yes, your batteries are trashed. You need to replace them. Or take them off the chair and put them on a car charger, slow charge. They need to be up over 24VDC. If they fall under 24VDC the charger won`t recognize them and won`t charge.
