Why when the T.V. is turned on does it turn itself off right away and a little red light begins flashing?

It turns on for a second the display says no signal then turns itself off.

SOURCE: does not turn on

Most likely a blown capacitors. Take off the cover and examine the capacitors on the main power board. If they are bulging or leaking they need to be replaced.

I was playing a game and the ps3 just randomly shut off then the red light starts flashing and every time I turn it on it shuts off right away

If the system turns on but then turns itself off, beeps at you and flashes it's lights at you then you have over heated the system. The GPU chip has probly pulled itself away from the board. This will require you to diassemble the PS3...

Controller not working

I had the same problem, so I called customer service and had me do this:

1) with the USB cable plugged into the controller, power down the ps3 and turn the on/off switch in the back to "off".
2) hold your thumb down on the front button (where you normally can turn it on) while turning the switch on the back to "on" again. keep your thumb or finger on the front switch.
3) You will hear the normal "beep" that you usually hear when the PS3 boots up, but after a few seconds later, you will hear a secondary beep. Remove your thumb or finger after this second beep and the PS3 will reset itself after a few seconds. I have a projector connected to it, so I had to set the display screen back to HDMI afterwards, but when I disconnected the USB cable the controller worked wirelessly again. The customer service rep said that this allowed the controller to pair with the PS3 again. Note: You probably do not have to have the controller plugged into the USB cable at all while doing this. I just happened to have it plugged in. Hope this helps.

Tv will not turn on--- flashing red led

I'm sorry, I don't have a solution, but I seem to be having a similar problem. When I turn my TV on, the green light comes on like it's powered up, but then the TV turns itself back off and the red LED light flashes. I can't do anything to turn it on or anything.
