Check your voltage meter, so it measures correctly, probably generate your UPS is not pure sine wave, but a modified sine, then the simple measuring devices to display the wrong value.

Generator is putting out 170 volts. it's a Coleman Powermate Plus 1800EX with a Subaru engine EX13D/30D. How do I get it to run right?

You need a manual so you can check the rpm, brush gear, circuit and check the rotor is receiving enough current to produce the rated output.

SYMPHONIC WF-1901 DEAD

Here is a troubleshooting guide for you:

Flyback Transformer

Check the 200V line on the CRT Board, it could be 170V also,

meaning the flyback is not oscillating.

To have the TV working, it should have at least a B+ of 95V

Check the main regulator.

Maximum supply voltage is about 135V on some TV models.

Why does my dr3624 only put out 98 vac, its rated at 120 vac? i'm off grid and my batteries are new 24 volt

Are you using a true-RMS voltmeter to measure the DR's output? The DR's output is modified sine wave, and a cheap average reading AC voltmeter will give you a reading of 90 volts or so. Alternately, if you have an oscilloscope, you can verify that the modified sine wave is around 170V peak to peak. It should alternate in segments of -170, 0, +170, 0... The duty cycle and peak voltages will vary with the inverter load.
