The carb has either got A blocked jet or water in the fuel,if it runs ok on choke this is tell tale of what I have said.

look underneath did drive belt snap in two , rear has white plastic fan on top of it that should be rotating with engine running if not yep you broke a belt , don't know about wire could it be from front PTO they are electric so it will need a wire ,one possibility is that drive belt broke slapped front PTO and broke off wire , that musta been some snow your pushin ooh and a reminder never push a hydrostatic drive tractor without pump turning it will dammage it

Try slackening the fuel filer cap to make sure there is not a vacum building up

Could be ignition module overheating, but then the coke influence doesn't make sense. Once it quits try either a shot of starting fluid in the carb, or tiny bit of gas. If it runs then you know you have a fuel problem. Check to be sure the gas cap is venting and check to be sure you're not getting vapor lock after the motor gets so hot. You could also disconnect fuel line to be fuel pump is pumping. Does it have a kawasaki engine? Beware of some plastic cam gears.

black exhaust would usually indicate that the engine mixture is too rich. This can be caused by a dirty air filter which may need replaced if it is the paper element type, or may need washed out if the foam type. It may also be that the carb' needs the mixture adjusted and this is done by turning the adjusting screw clockwise a very little at a time until the engine runs smoothly without black smoking. Beware of over tightening the adjustment screw as the end may be damaged or worse, nip off. hope this solves your problem
