Well, if your bike has been stored outside, then the cable is corroded in the housing. They will both need to be replaced. If the brake pads are wedged against the braking surfaces of the rims, then they were either not installed correctly or the pads have worn enough that they make contact at an odd angle and became stuck.

Trek 7300 effort pedaling

If the wheels spin free then I would look at the bottom bracket. All of the force you use for pedaling relies on the bearings in the bottom bracket being good. Are the pedals hard to turn by hand? Do the pedals themselves spin freely? If the wheels turn, this really only leaves these two rotating points as possible suspects.

How to replace front sprockets

Very simple but make sure you get properly fitting replacement chainrings as they have different bcd measurements eg: 110mm or 130mm
You have to remove Allen bolts whilst stabilising the rear with broad flathead screwdriver. Simply take off old ring and place new ring onto spider.
Use torque wrench to tighten if you have one
Your best bet actually is to buy them and ask seller to fit if you are unsure.

Trek 4300 disc brakes bleeding

Brake bleeding can be a long, messy process. With the reservoir open and full, apply brake and hold it. Now loosen the bleeder valve and let fluid drain until the flow stops or the brake lever compresses. KEEP HOLDING THE BRAKE LEVER, now close the bleeder valve. Now release brake lever. Fill reservoir again, repeat until all bubbles come out of the line and you get restored brake tension. It could take awhile. By the way, what happened such that you lost braking to begin with?
