Stanley garage door opener model 440. need a manual

http://www.teknuw.com/garage-door-opener-installation-manual/stanley/

https://www.manualslib.com/products/Stanley-U-Install-3760134.html

If you can identify the model number, it may be possible to locate a manual from 1997 using the internet with http://www.google.com

According to one of the web sites above, "Stanley stopped making garage door openers and gate operators in 1997. Spare parts can be difficult to find however original and compatible remote controls are still widely available, most of the remote controls used by Stanley were manufactured by the Linear corporation.
Stanley made garage door openers for other companies and many parts are interchangeable some of the brands they manufactured for are Vemco, U-Install, Quiet Glide, Light Maker, Home Innovative, Whistler, Popular Mechanics, and Secure Code."

I NEED THE MANUAL FOR MY STANLEY 8500.51 GARAGE DOOR IT WON'T CLOSE

Try searching around here to find similar or hopefully exact opener. Stanley no longer is in the garage door business, and the company that bought them out went bankrupt.
Good Luck

My stanley garage door opener's chain snaps everytime i open with remote

have you checked the chain tension adjustment for proper amount of deflection? This is listed in the manual that comes with your garage door opener. Usually, the chain is too loose from the problem that you are describing. I would check online for the manual if you don't have access to yours. Also, the travel adjustments for stop (up and down resting positions) would be explained as well.

We have a Stanley 9600.51-C and wishes to change the code how do we go about it, we do not have the manual

I found out that Stanley basically went out of business in 1997 and manuals are very hard to find. I actually have two Stanley openers installed in my garage for my two overhead doors-neither one are for your model. Sorry!
I did find this website which purports to have Stanley manuals available, so visit the site and contact them:
http://www.aaaremotes.com/stowma.html

There is this statement on the site:

"If you are unsure which Stanley® garage door opener manual you need, please call us during business hours at 818-725-7125 with the model number of your opener. We have most of the manuals scanned in PDF format, you will require Adobe Acrobat (free download at the link below), in order to view and print the manuals."

My stanley garage door opener motor runs but it won't open or close my door

If the motor runs and the chain does not then you have stripped the gears and will need to replace them. If the motor runs, the chain moves but the door does not move then the trolley is not attached or needs to be replaced. Thanks BB

How to reset garage door opener pad without old acess number

A Stanley garage door keypad is wall-mounted, battery-operated device that allows you to open your home's garage door electronically without having to manually lift the door or use a pull chain. The keypad uses a four-digit access code that you program after the keypad is initially installed. You can change the code, disable the keypad manually by entering a invalid code and reset the keypad if the device is not working properly. After you reset your Stanley garage door keypad, the device is ready to accept a new access code.

Need to tighten chain on stanley model # 3220.50 Serial code 9101

IT MAY BE ON THE FRONT END OF THE RAIL.

MANY OF THESE ADJUST WHERE THE CHAIN CONNECTS TO THE TRAVELER.

DON'T MAKE IT TOO TIGHT THE BUSHING AT THE POWER END IS PROBABLY ABOUT GONE (THIS IS WHAT CAUSES THE CHAIN TO GET LOOSE) LEAVE A SAG OF ABOUT 1.5 INCHES.

ALSO START WATCHING THE ADS FOR A GOOD DEAL ONCE THE BUSHING IS GONE THE UNIT IS TOAST - PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR MOST STANLEY UNITS.
