SOURCE: My HP LaserJet 4200 prints fine from tray 2, but will NOT print envelopes from tray 1. It WILL print on regular paper from tray 1, but will not print envelopes. What gives? I've already rebooted the

Are there settings on the control panel of your printer?
Is the tray 1 the MP tray? (The one that flips towards you)
If so, can you change the settings of the Tray 1 to Envelope on the control panel?

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Can't print custom envelope on HP Photosmart 7280

OK, to make this clearer, I had the same problem on my HP C7180. It seems to be rampant throughout their Multifunction printers.

My Fix, combining several others:

1. Go to Printers and Faxes on your Start Menu. In the Printers window, select Server Properties from the File menu. Use the Forms tab of the Print Server Properties dialog box to view printer forms. You may also see lots of forms that you wish your printer could see, but don't worry, it'll see the one you create now. And be sure when you create your form that you use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height. Usually for envelopes you will print in landscape mode.
2. Select the Create A New Form check box.
3. Enter a new name for the Form in the Form Description For field.
4. Use the fields in the Measurements area to set the paper size and margins. *Use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height*.
5. Choose the Save Form button to save the form. The Save Form button only gets pick-able when you type in a different name than what's there already.

Now go to your document program, such as Word. Make sure the window for the document you want to print is the active window. Select File/Page Setup..., Paper Size Tab, and there select the form you just created from the dropdown list

Still in your document program, select File/Print... then Properties. Select the Features tab, which may be differently named. Under Resizing Options/Size dropdown, select More... and there you'll find your newly created form down at the bottom, under Custom. Pick it.

If you're printing envelopes or other things where the way you view it it's wider side-to-side than it is tall, be sure and select "landscape" in both "page setup..." on your document program and in File/Print.../Properties/Features?Basic Options.

When I did all this methodically, I was able to print my Christmas envelopes. Yay!

SOURCE: Can't print envelopes made by

The problem centered around the fact that the HP209 would only print 8.5X11 sheets from Greeting Card Factory. Any other size seized up the pring spool.

We're going to return the HP (We think it's defective) and get an Epson.

Can you print address on envleope

Yes you can print an address on an envelope. Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, click on new office document and click the tab that says Letters & faxes (for versions before 2007) and choose the label wizard. When the window opens, click the tab that says envelope instead of label and follow the prompts to type in the information you want to print on yoru envelope.

If you have Office 2007 - or newer, click on new office document and then choose blank document. Click on the tab at the top that says mailings and then choose envelope and type in the information you want to print on your envelope. Then click on file, and print. You will need to load your envelopes in the printers tray and put them in the correct direction according to the settings your machine requires. You might need to waste a few envleopes until you get it right.

My hp J4680 won't feed envelopes, the envelopes goes part of the way in and then fails to print

Hi

The envelopes are standard in size hence do not use any odd sizes. And also do remember that you make the required alignment and also the feeding directions and positions. If you print in Landscape then the paper is too short for the printer to pick. Hence use Portrait so your printer can sense the presence of the envelope

If it will fit nto the feed tray yes. you have to go into options when you print and enter the size of the envelope. you may have to enter it as a custom size.

How do you print the return address on envelopes on the hpl7780? The return address that I need is there I just don't know how to move it to the return address spot when I put the address in the box

Hi, Make sure your software is set to use the right size envelope and printing layout/direction or orientation. Some software will let you add the "envelope" printing to the document; after which you can preview the print before using a trial sheet or envelope. Some software will even let you move the address elements around for problem solving placement or font issues. If it fits in the "preview" you should not have any difficulties in the print.

Need to print a half-fold card envelope with HP Photosmart C4480

I'm printing wedding invitation envelopes (or A6) and had to set both my C4480 and psc1315 to a regular size 8.5x11 letter size but changed my margins to reflect the smaller size for my envelope with the left side of the screen being the more narrow margin. After adjusting the top margin accordingly, I fed the envelopes, flap side down and straight into the printer and voila...envelope addresses are printed. Good luck. Blu
