I have the lg 47 inch lcd 7df. when turning on after a few hours of being shut off, it tends to take a few minutes turning on. the standby power light will blink red, then green as though it is powering up. it then will blink on and off 2 or 3 times before coming on.
LG's are known for having bad capacitors in the power supply. These components will cause all kinds of problems like not turning on, no backlight or no video and are known to do this after the TV has been off for a few hours or days. You will need service on this TV.
I am having this same problem, seems to be getting worse. The funny thing is, my warranty just went out one month ago. What exactly did you have to have done to your set

Seems to be a common problem with these 47 LG models. There were some models recalled recently ny LG. If you contact LG and comlain about this problem ypu may be able to have it fixed Its faulty control boards
We had the same problem of pathetic sound quality and volume with a sony brava. Thats just the way they make tv's these days because most people buy a surround sound system as well. We bought logitec computer surround sound speakers for about $140 and plugged into the ear jack, problem solved, we have heaps of volume and stacks of bass.
> IF IT WASNT DIGITAL HD I WOULD HAVE SUSPECTED HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY BUT THAT DOES NOT EXIST HERE. Well, not completely true; the fluorescent backlight is still a high voltage device, even if only hundreds of volts instead of kilovolts, and either the lamp(s) or the power supply for it (them) is causing the dropout of your picture. When it does it next time, look at the screen from various angles, I think you will see that video content is still there.
