You can fix it without the aid of a repairman. Simply unplug the microwave and remove the outer casing. There should be a few screws around the bottom edge and back panel. Once you have the unit open, look for where the power cord comes in. There should be a circuit board with a fuse mounted to it. This is your input line filter. The fuse should be a 20 amp appliance fuse that you can pick up at any hardware store (Lowe's and Home Depot both carry them). DO NOT op test with the outer casing removed. Potentials of about 14,000 volts are present in the high voltage network of a microwave oven. Close the unit up BEFORE you power it back up. Let me know if this helps.

SOURCE: Microwave Fuse keeps blowing

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If you or someone you know decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Very easy to replace...at least on my JVM1790. Remove the top vent....the long plastic thing that runs along the top of the MW. Two screws on top of the micro. Behind the charcola filter (if you installed one) is an access area to the bulb. remove one screw and the entire assy comes out. Simply R & R the bulb.

SOURCE: Microwave Blowing Fuse. Fixed. After Day, Fuse Blows Again.

Hello there:
If you have all ready changed out the fuse and it has happned again i would first check to see that the fuse is the right one for the machine (i am sure that you did this but please recheck ) next i would look at the controle board as the next culprit it maay be failing expecially if there were any pops ar sparks that was noticed before the initial failure.
Also check to see if all of the wires by the board a re not loose or looked burned ar if there is any grease or anything like this around the area
And finally check to see if the plate is turning ok and not sticking cause this would cause the microwave to overload and it wil make every fuse you put in there fail after just a couple of uses ok
SO please try all of these things that i have explained to you
I hope this is very helpful for you.
Best regards Michael

Microwave Spacesaver #JUM 2050BH001not heating

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

No heating, turntable does not turn, but clock & lights work.

Check to make sure the plastic on the shelve holders or tuntable guide did not wear and expose metal. If these holders or brackets are wore and exposed metal it shorted out your micro wave. They need to be replaced and a fuse needs to be replaced inside the control panel,

Heat doesn't come on in microwave

If you have the experience with discharging a capacitor and you have a (VOM) Volt Olm Meter. Unplug microwave, discharge capacitor, and check the resistance of the two thermal cut-off discs by removing the lead and set VOM to RX1. If you don't get a reading of zero, replace the discs. For part go to www.partselect.com and enter your model number. If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. D. Lange

GE Spacesaver doesn't heat

if you are as lucky as i was...i have a ge spacesaver model jvm130...same problem. first unplug unit and check fuse on the "power control module". if fuse is ok...unscrew the screws holding the "power control module" in place...carefully tilt module and see if a solder joint needs to be re-soldered. my problem was the solder joint under the front plug (5 large wire plug). you may have to unplug the three connectors to the board to get access to bottom. this is the second time i had to re-solder...last one was several years ago though. best of luck tennisrme
