Why is my Kenmore Energy Star 50 pint model 251-50501012 dehumidifier leaking water after I disconnected the drain hose

I thought i would try the drain hose and after a day found water on the floor. apparently the hose had a kink that i over looked. i took the hose off and the discontected the Drain connector. water is going into the bucket but is also leaking from the sides.

If you reconnect the drain hose, make sure that it lays flat from the dehumidifier and into the sump pump hole. I did that and it solved my problem of water leaking onto the floor.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

This error code indicates that the problem is most likely a shorted defrost thermistor or possibly a pinched wire going to the thermistor. You will need to replace the sensor assembly - part # 6877A30013L. The Sears website has it listed for 9.99 + shipping. The humidity sensor & defrost thermistor come together in a wiring harness that plugs onto the main circuit board. It is fairly simple to repair. Just remove the front & rear grill & the metal cabinet. Remove the thermistor from the copper tube on the cooling lines; remove the humidity sensor from the front of the evaporator; pull the wire plug off the bucket switch; & remove the small 7 pin plug from the main circuit board inside the metal control box. Reverse procedure to install new sensor assembly.

Hose is connected but water goes into bucket

Did you punch out (or cut) the plug that the hose connects to? If not, its blocking the water from draining to the hose.

Also, make sure the unit is higher than the drain and that the hose is not kinked or clogged.

Please rate 4 stars if this is helpful. Thanks and good luck!

Dehumidifier is not draining out of the hose.

The hose is most likely clogged. Try blowing into the end of the tube to loosen up the dirt in the water tank. You can use compressed air if you have it but plan on water spilling out of the back to be safe.

Why does blower wheel stop on Frigidaire dehumdifier?

Good Afternoon Desi,

I understand that the blower wheel is not spinning on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504DUD. I also see that the compressor will stay on unless the dehumidifier is unplugged. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can possibly clarify why the compressor stays on and why the blower fan is not working. If not, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction of having your dehumidifier working. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-
