How do you open door on new dishwasher

When the dishwasher is new, it’s harder to open. There is no button, just the handle. Pull hard and it will open.

If it is sudden opening during cycle then it is due to pressure build up inside the dishwasher is forcing the door to open.

a) Most likely your door latch is not holding proper enough. Quite common on LG.

b) May be your vent in the dishwasher is blocked so the pressure inside cannot get out. If vent blocked you have plate drying problems too.

c) Is the dishwasher leveled properly. Is it leaning to the front. This will be that extra help for the door to open when pressure build up inside the dishwasher.

Then again, usually Dishwashers do not have light inside... fridges do...

well if its new you should not touch it ,,the best thing to do is call for service because your under warranty,,there a 1-800 number on the inside lip when you open door..or check the back of your owners manual..if anyone srevices it it will void your warranty,,not worth it ....good luck

replace detergent door. this does come in a complete assy. with new door, spring and grommet. take your # with you when you research this part.

Probably fatigued wiring from the chassis to the door where it bends every time you open and close the door. On my 500E, I took the sheet metal door skin off and found a couple of burned spots on the wires inside a clear plastic strain relief.

The plastic latch release inside the door handle is broken. Most likely one of the pins holding it in place has broken.

First go to your local dishwasher supplier and look at a similar brand (GE Profile in my case) and see how the mechanism works. Next, get a thin pair of siccors, pull the dishwasher handle down and slid the siccors into the opening above the handel and push the tab holding the door closed up so it will release.

Once the door is open, remove the inside of the door to get to the latch. Remove the plastic latch release and order a new one.
