Sorry no, there is no Undo. However, an Authorized Viking Dealer Service Tech and check the timer on the Service configuration of the machine. It is not affected by the Timer Reset.

What is the proper tension number for a normal straight seam

Usually, the midway point of the upper tension dial is the standard factory setting. However, machines change with age and use. The correct tension is when the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. (However, that means you should test/reset the tension whenever you change projects because different fabrics may require a different tension setting.) Don't be afraid to adjust the top tension. You know where it started, so if you turn the wrong way, you can always undo it.

Adjusting the bobbin tension is usually a last attempt as it is very sensitive and is difficult to undo. Bobbin tension very seldom requires adjustment.

HINT: When threading the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Install a brand new needle when beginning a new project, after 8 hours of sewing, or if the needle strikes something on the machine. (A new needle is very inexpensive when compared to frustration, damaged fabric, or machine repair expenses.)

Timing Lag.

Are you sure the timing has gone,?
Check these first, needle in the correct way round, threaded properly, needle not blunt or bent.
If the machine still misses stitches arfter checking this then it needs retiming, select straight stitch, take off the needle plate, take out the bobbin case if you have a seperate bobbin case, and undo the two clips to take off the race cover, if you have a drop in bobbin just take out the bobbin, take the bottom off the machine so you can see underneath the raceway, tilt the machine back it will be easier, turn the balance wheel by hand towards you so the needle is going down into the machine then on its way back up, just as it starts to go up stop, look at the point of the hook, it should be just above the eye of the needle, if it is not undo the screws on the vertical gear underneath the raceway and you can move the hook round to where it should be, tighten and put the plate and parts back and test sew, if you have a front loading bobbin case undo the screws on the shaft of the raceway and move the hook round to where it should be, it may take you several attempts, if the machine sews perfectly on straight stitch test it on wide zig zag, if it misses stitches one side you will have to start again moving the hook either side slightly until you get it right thx nick

Where is the screw that adjusts the thread hook pick up timing. The timing is off on my machine so the hook doesn't catch the thread,

on the shaft that holds the needle you will find a clamp attached to a arm on a crank
if you undo that clamp it will slide up or down the shaft and that positions the needle
needle hook timing is on the start of the up stroke where the hook should be at are very near the eye of the needle
so position the shaft in the just up positing , undo the clamp and move the shaft ( not the crank) until the needle is correctly positioned and tighten the clamp

The motor runs on my Singer Merrit 8734 but the needle doesn't move.

if you have to undo the clutch to wind the bobbin, then try undoing the clutch again & then retightening the clutch & see if that helps & if it doesn't help the machine needs to be checked

I have an Elnita 250 there is a problem with the wheel, when turning it it does not operate the needle up and down?

Make sure the stop motion wheel is tight, if it will not tighten you will need to undo the stop motion wheel, undo the screw that is in the stop motion wheel, unscrew the stop motion wheel all the way off and you will see a three pronged washer, take the washer off and put it in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on and tighten to finger tight, screw the screw back up in the stop motion wheel, a final turn one the the stop motion wheel to tighten then test, if it does not work put the three pronged washer in a different position even upside dowm.

Bernina Aurora 450 Sewing Machine

If the buzzing noise is coming from the motor it may be the suppressor on the way out and unfortunately for a Bernina it will be a shop job, if the buzzing is coming from the foot control then you can undo the foot control and take out the suppressor and discard it.

Press the peddle, and it only tries a little. won't work continuously

Make sure the machine has beemn oiled recently, undo the stop motion and press on the foot control and see if you have full power, if not you may need a new motor.

On my wife's sewing machine, she disengaged the gear on the hand wheel to rewind a bobbin. No she can not re-engage it, and it keeps slipping. Any ideas? Thanks, Darren

Hello Darren,
Undo the stop motion, unscrew the screw all the way and then undo the stop motion all the way until it is off, turn the three pronged washer in a different position, put everything back and tighten the stop motion wheel finger tight only, tighten the screw and then tight the stop motion further, if it does not grip start again and put the three pronged washer in a different position, you can turn it upside down.

Singer 328k bobbin winder replacement

Follow these instructions, undo the 2 screws on the right hand side plate where the balance wheel is and take the plate off, undo the screw on the chrome stop motion wheel, undo the stop motion and take it off, take off the 2 pronged washer and notice which way it goes on, not a problem if you can't remember, you should be able to pull the balance wheel back so you can get to the screws on the winder, if you can.t and if you have a problem getting the balance wheel all the way then go the very bottom of the machine and you will see 2 big holes and one of the holes will lead you to a big screw and nylon adjuster, slacken the screw and move the nylon adjust so the belt goes slack, you can not take the balance wheel all the way off to get to the screws on the winder, take the old one off and screw the new one on, whilst you have the balance wheel off it would be wise to put some thin oil on the shaft before you put the balance wheel back on, when you have the balance wheel on and the and the belt round the pulley turn the nylon adjuster so the belt is tight and tighten up the screw, put the side plate back on, put the 3 pronged washer back on, put the stop motion wheel back on and just tighten finger tight then tighten the small screw.

You can find this information by touching the configuration icon (this looks like pliers). The item that shows you how many sewing hours is called Timer. You should know that this can be reset to 0 by anyone.
