Do you mean the AT&T CL81301 Cordless telephone? This model doesn't have an answering system. You'd need to adjust the number of rings for your voicemail system through the telephone company's system. If you mean the AT&T CL82301 or the CL83301, first make sure that the system is set to Answer On. Do this with the base Answer On/Off button or through the Menu system (see below for accessing the Answering System menu). You'll need the Answer On/Off line in the handset menu. With the phone system idle (no calls in or out, no one using another handset), press Menu/Select. Use the Up(DIR)/Down(CID) arrows to navigate to Answering Sys. Press Menu/Select. Navigate to Ans Sys Setup and press Menu/Select. Navigate to # of Rings and press Menu/Select. Use the up/down arrows to choose the number of rings and press Menu/Select to Save. There is no user replaceable battery in the AT&T 1725 answering system. If the unit is disconnected from power, it will hold the announcement and messages that are recorded on the digital memory. However, it will lose the current time (you'll see the CL code) and could loose the current Remote Access code. If you wish to avoid resetting the time after short power outages, you should invest in an uninterruptable power supply (UPS).

Press the MENU button. If your camera is set to display menu text, select "Date." If it's set to display icons, select the clock showing nine o'clock (the one with the solid circle, not the broken circle which is the self-timer). Press OK. Select "Date" and press right. Use left/right to move between the fields, up/down to change the values. Press the MENU button when done.

Does your system have a time/code button? If it does, hold the button down for about 5 or so seconds until you hear the date, then use your arrow keys up above & change to appropriate date & time.
