All updated drivers are available free from the various manufacture's websites.
Windows.microsoft.com/en-us/.../xp-downloads
Depend witch drivers you need hardware or software ?
normaly google for it and you can vind drivers,
most drivers are avalebel from the hardware compagnie
Do not just update your drivers an never use the programs on the internet for free drivers update its all spam.
check you device manager , right click on my computer an choose manage, expand device manager, does it have any complaints , yellow bangs , exclamation,
no? then leave it alone. dont update anything
just use the microsoft windows updates only for any driver updates (which microsoft has been known to shove the wrong drivers to you even so)
use a browser like firefox an inside that use addons like adblock plus , and or no script to surf safer.
updating windows just to update it without any issue needing fixing is what folks are doing, then they ruin the os ,putting in junk to clean the registry or spoof programs telling them they need updates .
dont fix what aint broke.
if windows runs w/o errors then its fine.
what you likely want to do is to turn off junk an remove it .
go to add remove programs an uninstall any toolbar you see. any viewer for videos.
then go to start run an type msconfig .. look at the startup items an turn off any programs not needed. there , unchek an reboot an walla all fixed
the exception to updating windows is sometimes you might want to update your video card driver for a game if it dont run correctly, go to the website manufacturer an get the update u need there .
when xp is originally loaded with drivers it goes like this
use the manufacturer website for the model you have..
1st . load chipset driver an reboot it will see all new devices hit cancel each time.
2nd then load video or sound or nic drivers
in that order.
updates are done by microsoft to patch holes they found in the os when you use IE or MS office that folks exploit.
the internet will never be safe from any exploit
you have these drivers ... chipset , video , sound, nic , usb ,,,, hard drive, cd rom,pc card slot for memory cards , only the 1st 5 are usually used or needs updating never use driver packs or updates unless youv have totally backed up your system . our you wil pay to recover it , since you don't know what your doing anyway. some one that knows what they are doing can go in remotely with teamviewer an fix most any issue . but 1st question is not do you need drivers is , do you have driver issues an backed up what you can.
