I have a sharp LCD (LC-26SB14U) which I purchased one year ago and today the sound stop working as I was watching the olympics. Any idea how to fix this problem as the warranty is only good for a year.
Thanks,
Bob
Changing the inverter board shouldn't be hard. It's just the matter of taking things apart and unplugging some wires to it.
There shouldn't be anything you would have to solder in.
I'm sure he gave you the price of the whole inverter board itself. Not the small transformer inverter on the board.
This does not sound like a CCD problem yet, but a LCD problem. This would require you to replace the LCD screen. Sounds like the LCD inverter is shot. That is the power supply that is required to back light your LCD.
Before we blame that, you should make sure that all ribbon cables are secure and tight.
Sorry, this has no easy fix. The good news is you do not need an LCD Panel. The bad news is the Video Processor has a problem.
This TV has x3 Boards. The one you should replace first is the one in the middle. If this doesn't fix it, try the one on the right. The Part #s are on the Boards if you wanna try ebay.
Do you get good audio from the headphone jack?
If yes, then it is the Audio Amp or some component in the Audio Circuit
If NO, then then Audio Switching IC is defective.
Expeens will depend on the person fixing it. expect $70-100 parts. I think labor is normally $80-120. so $150-220 total.
You can get a new 26" for that though. If the headphone works then the Audio Out of the TV will work. I suggest a miini system for audio out.
hello...there is probably an contact problem between the display and the circuit board..if you havn't dropped it in any liquid it's possible that you can fix this by carefully adjust the "rubber" electric connector exactly to the "pads" on the circuit board..please be thorough to make sure that you hav enough "contact pressure" so that the display will have all segments working..it may be a "frameholder" problem!...if this desn't make it work, go to your local mobilephone serviceshop and talk with them...maybe they have some spare parts.......good luck...Ron
