Phillips hdmi ports not working

you have input problems with HDMI 1 I would use 2 and leave it alone. You cannot repair this yourself.

Does the TV have an HDMI port on the back of the TV? Example: DVD player HDMI out to TV HDMI in. then on the TV select input and choose the HDMI port number you connected the cable to on the TV

The HDMI port on your television can be replaced easily by someone that knows how to solder

take it back and exchange it...then you'll know for sure if they are incompatible or TV is on the fritz or a bad sound system

Sounds like you have a bad input board and it is only time before you lose three. If it is under warranty get it in otherwise start tracking down the part. Most of these are a plug and play device once the tv is apart.

HDMI ports are very fragile the solder can go bad on the pins, and it is not so easy to re-solder the pins, to fix the problem you have to replace the whole board. You can gently giggle the port and see if you can get a picture.

sounds to me like a bad HDMI cable. Just replace it.
If HDMI still wont show, move to another HDMI port. But based on having to hold HDMI cable with hand to steady the connection, it is either a bad HDMI cable, or a bad HDMI port on the receiver. Good luck

I have Verizon Fios and there's a known issue with the motorola HD boxes that they have bad hdmi ports, the screen goes green and that's it, nothing I can do about it I just use component cables. You need to be sure it's your tv not the cable box. Try the hdmi on a dvd player or ps3 or whatever else you have first just to be sure it's the tv at fault not the cable box. If you determine it is the tv you need to replace either the main board or the video board depending on your specific tv model. Some have the video inputs on the main boards some have video boards.

Something to remember is that most HDMI setups on TV's have what is called a DVI/HDMI port, I would suggest not using anything on that port that isnot converted from DVI to HDMI. I bet if you look, that HDMI 1 on yours....
