Why are there no error codes when running diagnostic test?
Replaced broken water pump. I followed the manual to run diagnostic test. All lights flash, etc., then all blank except "clean clothes" light flashing. What do I do next? Any ideas? Thanks!
I tried running a load. Put clothes in washer. Pushed power. Selected wash cycle. Pressed start. Everything seemed normal, but nothing happened after I pressed start.I tried running a load. WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR ERROR
If the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range (23°F to 217°F
[-5°C to 103°C]) during the water-heating step of the WASH cycle.
Possible Causes/Procedure
- Unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Make sure that connections to water heater & CCU (TH2 & HE2 cavities)
connectors are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal
pins are visible.
- Check continuity from the water heater sensor (black wires) to CCU
(TH2 cavity) connector.
- If the continuity diagnosis failed, the Main Harness must be replaced.
- Check the resistance of heating element.
- Check the resistance of the water sensor.
- Plug in washer or reconnect power.
- Verify the washer operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle.
- After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect
power and wait for 15 seconds.
Water Temperature Sensor
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Disconnect the wire harness from the water temperature
sensor and measure the resistance of the sensor. Use the
following table. An abnormal condition is an open circuit =
infinity; Water Temperature Sensor must be replaced.
Temperature Results
32°F (0°C) 35.9k ?
86°F (30°C) 9.7k ?
104°F (40°C) 6.6k ?
122°F (50°C) 4.6k ?

Hello Faye, The F4 error code is a drainage error and it means that the control board did not detect a drop in the water level in the tub so it thinks it didnt drain. The things that could cause this are a clooged filter on the pump asm, a blockage in the drain pump or hose or even a defective control board if in fact all the water has seemed to drain out of the tub. This is how ya set the diagnostic test to clear the codes and see if it reoccurs
Make sure the appliance is empty of water before running Diagnostics as it does not pump out before starting to fill and therefore you could overfill the appliance.
Open the door and set the program to the first program. (Normally rinse).
Turn the power off.
Press and hold the start button and while holding turn the power on.
After a little while the start button will flash, release the button.
Press the start button once and close the dishwasher door.
The machine will now run through a diagnostic routine.
Diagnostic takes about 20 mins.
The machine will stop during diagnostics if an error is found and will display the error code. If no error is found it will complete the diagnostics and end the program.
To exit diagnostics at any time just press and hold the start button till the program is cancelled.
Fault codes associated when ink count flags are stuck after melting 2.5 ink sticks.(Black ink)
1. Are the ink sticks all Xerox ink? Are they the correct ink sticks for the printer model? Yes)Go to Step 2. No)Advise customer. Run clear ISC Fault test to clear the error. The clear ISC fault menu item is located in the internal diagnostics function menu. This must be performed following an ink loader replacement.
2. Manually verify that the ink stick is able to advance in the ink loader chute. Check for broken or wrong type ink sticks. Yes)Go to Step 3. No) Remove any blockage and/or replace the ink stick. Run clear ISC Fault test to clear the error. The clear ISC fault menu item is located in the internal diagnostics function menu. This must be performed following an ink loader replacement.
3.Run the appropriate Ink Melt [1, 2, 3, 4] Heater test. 1 = Yellow 2 = Cyan 3 = Magenta 4 = Black Did the test pass? Yes)Replace the printhead. No) Replace the ink loader assembly. Run clear ISC fault test to clear the error. The clear ISC Fault menu item is located in the internal diagnostics function menu. This must be performed following an ink loader replacement.
The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.
If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.
The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.
SL is a suds lock code it can be caused by the drain pump not draining the water, too much detergent, non HE detergent, or extra heavy loads, try running it empty, if code persits it is a computer/main controller/timer failure

check drain trap for restriction
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves turn off.
This error code is only shown in Diagnostic test.
Possible Causes/Procedure
- Ask the customer how much detergent they are using and if it is HE
detergent. May have too much suds present causing this condition.
- Turn washer ON to verify pump operates; run the drain cycle.
- Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
- Unplug washer or disconnect power
- Make sure that wire harness connections at the Drain Pump, Pressure SW,
& CCU (DP2, PR6 cavities) connectors are not broken or with wires detached,
and that connector internal pins are visible.
- Check continuity from the Drain Pump & CCU (DP2 cavity) connectors.
- Check continuity from the Pressure SW & CCU (PR6 cavity) connectors.
- If the continuity diagnosis failed, Main Harness must be replaced.
- Make continuity test to the Pressure SW. See page 8.
- Check the resistance of the motor pump. See page 8.
- Plug in washer or reconnect power.
- Run the drain cycle.
- If the failure continues, unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
- Disassemble the drain pump from the washer.
- Check that the impeller is not detached from the motor shaft. If the
impeller is detached from the shaft, is broken or has any scratches,
the drain pump must be replaced.
- Plug in washer or reconnect power.
- Verify the unit operation by performing the Diagnostic Test cycle.
See page 5.
- After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect
power and wait for 15 seconds.
