Why does LG LHD45ELY6 dehumidifyer dump its collection water onto floor?

I have had two LG Dehumidifers in my show and the customers said the same thing it runs but no water in the bucket. Yes when they started them up the compressor came on but not the fan. Both had tight bearings. Lubricating the bearings but the motors were bad.

Make sure the filter is clean and also make sure the coils are cleaned. If these are clogged they will restrict airflow which will cause the coils not to remove the humidity from the air. LG recommends that you clean the air filter every 2 weeks. They also include a brush to clean the coils. If this still does not work you will need to contact LG for service or a replacement. They have a 5 year warranty on them so the ones that you guys have should still be under warranty. Make sure that you have your reciept when you contact them to prove that it is still under warranty. I think that there is a 90 degree bend in the outlet on the bottom right front side of the collection tray that gets pluged with dirt, line etc. You can see this when you remove the collection container from the unit. I used a small piece of wire to clean out the hole and now the water goes into the tank and not onto the floor.

Bring it back for warranty and they will send you a new one. The warranty is 5 years for everything. These LG units have a defective design and I was told the evaporator (or parts thereof) rust and leak. My repair store had rows of LGs in for repair. Most people avoid the hassle and buy another brand. If you have the time to call LG, bring it to a repair shop, wait for an assessment, call back LG for a replacement, you'll get a replacement. But you may have to do it all over again next year -- and until your warranty expires.
