SOURCE: mine is a simplicity 804 easy lock

Your knives may be blunt and need sharpening or replacement.

Check also if the knives are aligned properly. Remove the material and turn the handwheel slowly. The knives should pass each over like a pair of scissors and there should not be any cap between the blades.

If everything seems to be okay and it still does noet cut tne material, replacement is the only option.

Fabric will not feed

if the serger is new, then take it back
if its not new,,
it sounds like there could be a problem with the feeddogs or with the timing, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked at a sewing machine repair shop..

If my machine is not cutting right do I need to replace both blades

not necesarily, can you see a knick in either of the two blades? use a magnifying glass and see if you can see any damage first.

Then try changing the fixed bottom blade only first, you may have got a replacment top blade in your accessory bag new with the machine.

The blades themselves are very high grade steel just like scissor blade so should last for quite a long time, provided they don't come into contact with a pin.

You can buy the bottom blade for your machine here http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/lower-knife-babylock-60544.aspx along with the top blade and other spares.

Also, remember to clean the blades of lint regularly and give them a wipe with a cloth moistened with a little clear sewing machine oil from time to time.

What are the proper settings for a serge pro

I have a Simplicity Pro model SW432.  The sewing sample that came with it had the following tension settings: Red 3.2 yellow 2 green 3.5 blue 2 The book gives illustrations about the different problems you might have.  Changing a tension a little and trying it for the partic. fabric you are using, is usually what a person ends up doing.
